CENTRALIA – A 28-year-old woman was shot in Centralia this afternoon and police are investigating.

Officers were called at 1:16 p.m. about shots fired at the 400 block of North Ash Street.

A Centralia woman was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital with a gunshot wound to her shoulder, described as non-life threatening, according to police.

However she was being airlifted this afternoon to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Officer Patricia Finch said.

Nobody has been arrested, Finch said about 3:30 p.m. today.

Yellow police tape was stretched around a grassy area behind a lower unit at the Edison Terrace Apartments.

Officers from Centralia and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office congregated there this afternoon.

Two young men were brought out of a nearby apartment and handcuffed by police and taken away.

Finch said she did not know if the injured woman lived at the apartments.

Finch said she did not know if the shooter was at large.

The couple who manage the complex didn’t know much either this afternoon.

“All I know is I heard gunshots, it was two gunshots,” said Gregg Zetz who manages the apartments with his wife.

Zetz said he saw two guys outside on the corner of Ash Street and Park Way screaming and cussing toward one of the apartments.

“My husband tells me to get the kids on the floor and call the cops,” Melissa Zetz said.

Melissa Zetz said the complex is usually fairly quiet, except about two weeks ago someone came to the same apartment with baseball bats and broke out windows and smashed up a car belonging to the resident.

On Dec. 4, four men were arrested in connection with baseball bats there, and police were told it was “gangsters.”

Gregg Zetz said he informed the tenant of the involved apartment today she must move out.

Update 10:06 p.m.: Centralia police report they have arrested four men – all Centralia residents – in connection with the shooting they are calling gang-related.

Twenty-year-old Ulises Carrillo-Cruz was booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree assault and felon in possession of a firearm, according to the Centralia Police Department.

Carrillo-Cruz confessed to shooting the woman, police say, who was not the intended target.

Rolondo Carrillo-Cruz, 25, was booked for  first-degree assault and felon in possession of a firearm, according to police.

Two others were booked for rendering criminal assistance. They are Francisco J. Robles, 18, and Javier E. Martinez, 18, according to police. Robles was also booked for possession of a firearm.

A firearm was found hidden in some bushes near the scene by police dog Kayo, according to police.

Dear pffft, Seriously? “none of those boy are gang related” Thats CRAP and you know it! Its been a rival for years. No NEW NEWS there! Everyone one of them are bangers and we know it. Protection? YES! We as a general public NEED the protection from these idiots! You go ahead and keep protecting them and hopefully they will protect you if ever the time comes. keep it real esa! Trash comes in many colors, even “white” trash.

  2. pffft says:

to everyone talkin bad- NONE of you know what really went on with these guys, so let me give you a lil FYI- NONE of these boys are currently gang related, yes 2 of them were but BOTH got away from it, this “lvl” gang has been after them for years JUST BECAUSE, bc thats the way their lil gang works, they do what they want whenever they want to, and they keep getting away with it,
“LVL” has already tried to shoot and kill the 2 brothers already, and keep breakin out their car windows, recently they been harrasing thm again, so if i were these boys i would hav my protection with me too, just like these boys did, THEY PROTECTED THEMSELVES WHEN THE “LVL” MEMBERS CAME AFTER THEM ONC AGAIN FOR NO REASON!!!!!!!!!!, these boys didnt go looking for trouble, they were at THEIR OWN HOME, when the “lvl” came looking for them, but yet, WHERE IS THE LVL MEMBERS?! out on the streets!!!!!!!! and for you people being RACIST, you needa check yourself, and know your facts, there is PLENTY of WHITE people in “LVL” since a couple of the ones who went lookin for trouble were WHITE!!!!!!!!!!

  3. lockem up! says:

Do a name search in WA state courts on these guys, NONE of them are new to court system. Theres a lot of criminal history there and I pray its the 3rd strike for ALL of them.(both sides) This community needs and WANTS them off our streets, so they dont do any more damage or recruit any more of our our kids. Sick pricks that prey on the handicap or weak. Cool!?!? giving a gun and drugs to mentally/emotionally challenged kids is NOT cool. CRUEL yes! Run while you can wowman because as long as you think these guys are cool you have a very little chance of becoming a productive member of society. They obviously have already polluted your mind. R U N ! ! !

  4. cleaver1 says:

WOWMAN…You say they were victims of harassment? Oh what a tough break! I’ve been harassed, and worse but never shot at anyone over it! That’s not “bad ass” or “cool” what they did, it was cowardly, pure yellow! I for one am glad their trigger happy asses are off the street. I would say from the tweeky east end to the banger west end that the law has a big job on their hands. Good luck to them!

  5. Concerned!! says:

Yeah well I know them all too and as for them being harrased HAHAHA they sure the hell have had their fair share of doing the harassing!! They are not inncoent and niether are the ppl in the “rival gang” either I am sure however in this incident they r the guilty ones and committed a crime no matter who it was against not to mention stray bullets kill innocent bystanders all the time!! I don’t understand what part of anything these “gang members” do can be called cool?!?!? Maybe he was a nice person to you but helping or being invoved in a gang and all the activity that goes along with it is in no way shape or form “cool” no matter how u try to twist it!!

  6. @ wowman. REALLY!?!? you think he is cool? Well your probably not going to get a very warm reception on this page. LOL.. There is ABSOLUTLY nothing cool about this guy. Hard life or not, this was/is gang activity and gangs are NOT cool. Do yourself a favor and find some new friends while you still can.

  7. wowman says:

wow and who all are we to judge, these guys were victims of harassment and just got tired of it and I knew them all and the kid wasent a bad kid, he may have had a hard life but I thought he was cool

  8. I am NOT suprised at all by this! A local foster family TRIED to help one of these guys a years ago and had to stop because of his anger issues, gang mentality and fear for their safety. That kid had been in trouble for years! YEARS! Like from age 10! In and out of juvie, in and out of many homes. Im sure if the public could see his criminal history as a juvenile they would be scared to death! AND he is mentally handicapped! That kid should have been removed from this area and placed in a group home with skilled professionals years ago! The system FAILED this kid AND the general public BIG TIME!

  9. cleaver1 says:

Thanks for that info Emerson. If these bangers are citizens of the U.S. then lock their asses up before there’s another multiple murder! The cops know they’re there, they need to stomp it in the bud. As far as judging, I feel I have a right to my opinion. I didn’t say all hispanics are illegal, sorry for you if it came off that way. I’m white, but not a tweek. All tweeks aren’t just white. I wouldn’t be offended if someone said they were. People are way too sensitive and need to grow that thick skin so many people talk about. It’s conversation. opinions……

  10. Emerson says:

Cleaver1, you are partially right. Depending on location and demographic that is true, but not in this area. Most Hispanic gang members in Centralia and Chehalis are US born. Some were born and raised right there in the twin cities. Gangland is very informative, but deals in generalities. You can contact either department or the Sheriff’s office and they will b happy to give you any info you like, that is what I did. It was very eye opening.

  11. Emerson says:

WOW, perhaps, you should stop being so defensive and become part of the solution. I for one assume that most of the actual local gangbangers are either US born or naturalized because more often than not, that has proven to be the case. Stop talking like a victim and get educated about the facts. If you don’t like being thrown in the same pot with these idiots, make sure people know where you stand when the subject comes up. Draw a line in the sand. Immigration is a real issue as well, and you are right, people are quick to judge especially here in this dysfunctional little community, that is Lewis County, but they will only get away with what you let them get away with. You loose credibility when you throw out the “woe is me” expressions of racial division. Hispanics have been in this area for most of its’ history, and illegals have been here for at least 30 years as is evidenced by the fact that there was the recent cold case involving illegal immigrants dating back to the 80’s, so obviously this is not a new phenomenon…but don’t fall for the “race card” argument. Ignore it. The ignorant people who post it want the reaction. Don’t feed the beast.

  12. Hummm... says:

If American citizens who are also hispanic wanted to improve their lot in life, they would be the first to turn in/report illegals. But sadly, I have never seen that occur.

  13. WOW says:

I do not expect from my one comment for ppl to stop being racist but it’s still so old and annoying!!! And ur right it is a dream….I dream that my kids will beable to not have to go through the things my husband and I do….We have never been in jail never commited a crime except a minor traffic violation and work pay bills taxes take care of our family w/o public assistance and are still put in the same classification as the men above and ppl that do things like them!! I do believe that immigrants that commit crimes like these individuals ruin it for everyone but since I see alot of caucasion men and women that are criminals and meth freaks I guess they are all like that huh?!? I can go on and on for years about this topic but I won’t it’s ignorant for the ppl that think this way but it is also ignorant for me to think I can change it… but I will never stop saying my peace when the topic is braught up!!

  14. cleaver1 says:

Guess no one here has seen the docu series “Gangland”? A large percentage of hispanic gang-bangers are immigrants. I’d be pissed too if I were a law abiding hispanic citizen. Throwing out the “race card” crap is getting old and tired though.

  15. teamo3 says:

exactly my children are also hispanic and i for one am so tired of the finger pointing everyone has rights regardless of there color they have to go through the same process and i agree they should do their time b-cuz of gang related but don’t judge a book by it’s cover !!! thats what my mamma taught me and not to judge did yours ??

  16. johnh says:

keep dreaming WOW the race card is here to stay

  17. WOW says:

Exactly what teamo3 said …. Although throwing the book at them and keeping them off the street would be fabulous!! Also if anyone had any knowledge of the way things work with criminals and immigration they would know that everyone of them that goes to jail that is an illegal alien gets deported eventually but instead of just shipping them out they are making them do their time for their crimes first…….. I am so tired of ppl assuming someone is illegal b/c they are hispanic get with the times ppl there are plenty of hispanics here legally and ones that were born here wich makes them just as much AMERICAN as U or I!!! It scares me that my daughter who is hispanic has to grow up with ppl like u here to judge her….THIS IS 2011 we should be over the race card already!!! ….Back to the news this is not the only time these “men” have been accused of this or something similiar:hope they get maximum sentance for it plus get the extra time they can add on for it being gang related b/c I know of these individuals and it IS gang related!!!Keep these so called thugs off the streets!! I for one feel much safer knowing they are locked up!!!

  18. teamo3 says:

just because their hispanic does not mean they were not born here learn you facts before you judge by the color of their skin!!!!!

  19. cleaver1 says:

    Ooooooops!

  20. cleaver1 says:

Even if the do get deported, they usually come back with a new name and “buy” a new green card. pretty brazen activity for sure, the shooting that is. That lady who was shot must have really pissed them off! scary shit!

  21. Joshua says:

funny how the offenders are all hispanic, wonder if they’ll get deported? probly not,

  22. Emerson says:

See, that’s how it’s done. Nine hours later, four guys in jail and a gun off the street. Nicely done. With gang shootings you’re lucky to get any cooperation from anyone let alone get the bad guys and the gun. Kudos to the Centralia cops!
