Sharyn’s Sirens: Daily police and fire roundup

THEFT

• Centralia police were called to the 800 block of South Pearl Street around 9:30 a.m. yesterday about a burglary to a shed. Somebody cut a lock and stole a compressor, a ‘reciprocating” saw and other tools, according to the Centralia Police Department.

WITNESS TAMPERING

• One of the individuals charged last week with dealing methamphetamine in the east end of Lewis County was back in front of a judge yesterday after allegedly scaring an informant in the case. James D. Hamrick, 29, was charged with witness tampering. Lewis County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Brad Meagher said Hamrick made a phone call from the jail to someone wanting the informant to be picked up and taken somewhere. “He’s now in hiding and we’re real concerned about the “CI’s” safety in the case,” Meagher told the judge. Hamrick was charged last week with two counts of delivery of methamphetamine and one count of possession with intent to deliver. He is already being held on $50,000 bail, but yesterday Judge Richard Brosey ordered him held on the new charge on $100,000 bail.

THIS IS TO AUNTIE. TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE THAT HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN TO THEIR FAMILY. IF YOU DEAL YOU ARE MOST LIKELY DOING DRUGS. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ROSES OR COFFEE. BEING IN DENIAL WILL NOT HELP YOU OR HIM.

  2. MFCEO says:

    Haters gonna hate

  3. Thinking out loud says:

I have to agree with a little of what most of you have said…yes, sometimes innocent people do get sent to jail/prison. In the case of Booth, even IF he didn’t kill those people, we do know that he was a drug dealer..so jail is where he belongs!
Children that are raised in a culture where drugs/alcohol/theft are the normal it has to be extremely difficult for them to see beyond that. Yes, many do, but I can’t imagine how hard that is as a child to decide that you are going to go against all that you’ve been taught. That does not excuse them if they commit crimes, but, for me, does explain why they might end up there.
I think it takes a whole lot of people willing to step up and ‘rescue’ a child that is in that situation.

  4. George says:

Auntie, blaming everyone EXCEPT the drug users for the problem of drug abuse, well, that’s like calling a giraffe an elephant. Denial. Nobody is putting a gun to these people’s heads saying “Do drugs or I’ll shoot you!” Every single person who is doing the drugs is doing so of their own free will. Stop blaming everyone and everything else for these peoples’ problems. Put the blame solely where it belongs: on those who use, those who sell, and those who make the drugs.

Hold those people accountable for their actions, and maybe that might get some of them to stop the drugs.

And there are LOTS of things for people to do. They just have to get out and do it.

  5. Auntie says:

I guess everyone is entitled to his/her opinion that’s what this is all about right??? Well if you ask me this county has failed and keeps failing, If they had more jobs more things for young kids growing up to do then maybe Drugs wouldn’t be so tempting to them…Really, blame it on whatever but truth is it’s up to all of you to make sure these kids have other things to do and nobody seems to be finding them anything to do so Drugs are finding them!!!!!! It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks we are all human and have people that love and care about us there’s always some that don’t no big deal!!!! Being haters is what most of you are anyways!!!!!!

  6. Hmmm... says:

So he wasn’t a drug user just a drug dealer…. THAT’S WORSE!! he was in his right mind and still wanted the CI to “disappear”?!?!? That’s scary!! I am not sorry someone “tattled” on him the criminals have made it necessary for the police to have them flip on eachother so they can get the bigger fish…Not the way any of us would like it to be I am sure including the police but how else are they going to find the drug dealers that are putting this poison out on the streets?!?!?! As for being upset someone ratted out someone else REALLY?!?! THIS IS THE DRUG TRADE PPL NONE OF THE PPL INVOLVED IN IT ARE LOYAL UPSTANDING TRUSTWORTHY WONDERFUL PPL!!! If u believe they r U R NUTTZ!! I feel terrible for his children not b/c they are losing out due to the police or police informants fault but b/c their father didn’t think of them and make better choices in life that would not take him away from them…He did that on his own had he not been committing a crime the police could not have arrested him and he would not be facing any jail time he would be at home safe n sound parenting his children but he chose this over them!!

  7. George says:

So, if the jury found him guilty, then that means he is innocent, just because he is “Big Six”? Really? “Irrefutable Proof”. That means that there was absolutely no doubt in the minds of TWELVE people… peers, you might say… that this person was indeed guilty of everything he was charged with. But, he is “Big Six”, so all twelve of those jurors were wrong. Do I have that correct, “Brittany”?

Can I let you in on something called REALITY? If the jury found him guilty, then he is guilty. he had a chance to tell his story, and even then he STILL screwed it up. He has people saying he was with them in Aberdeen, he says he was in Rochester… where was he with YOU when this all went down? Tacoma? Olympia? Tenino?

I still think this was a perfect case for the death penalty. Perhaps if they would have done that, and carried out the sentence quickly, it might have been a deterrent to others doing this sort of thing. But, sadly, it’s not, and it won’t be. Not until every single druggie is locked up. And “drug court”? What a joke… if you are just dismissing any charges they have for completing this nonsense, then you aren’t doing a thing to help them… If you don’t hold people accountable for their actions, you might as well not do a thing.

  8. Brittany says:

That’s funny…you guys are all funny. I used to be a tweaker. Turns out I haven’t done dope in 6 months. And I’m not on probation. Al though I have spent a lot of time in and out of jails. And have heard the guards in LC especially LC telling inmates in there just how well “taken care” of the snitches are. The cops don’t give two craps what happens to the snitches. And I’m glad that it makes you feel better to call me names. And what is the irrefutable proof that they had against six? People testifying. Good thing the people in the house that survived was spun the hell out. So that means that their testimonies are all concrete right? And I don’t want all the druggies and dealers set free. If I hadn’t have gone to jail this last time I would be out there still tweakin away. I’m glad I went to jail. It really gave me the chance to open my eyes. You couldn’t pay me a million dollars to go back down to the LC scene. Everybody down there are just a bunch of jokes. Trust me…I know…I used to be one. You will find that all the good people from down there are clean or in prison. Not saying that all the people who are in prison or clean are the good ones. But people are finally opening their eyes to all the scum bag crap that goes on down there. So maybe before you start to bad mouth me you should get to know some stuff about me. Who are you to say anything about me? You don’t even know me. Maybe you still have some growing up to do…? There are two sides to every story. Just remember that. The jury found him guilty…that must mean it’s true. Seriously? Don’t believe everything that you see or hear on the TV or in the Newspaper. Coming from somebody that knows the system pretty well…just because somebody is found guilty of the crime…doesn’t mean they actually did it. Or that it actually happened the way that the Newspaper or TV says it did.

As sourdough from the Buzz likes to say…

    Push Back…….

  13. Sick of the tweekers says:

I got more to say, but they have’nt moderated my 1st post yet, so we will see how it goes.

I will say this, we as a community, need to use the internet as a way to enforce the rule of law on these tweekers.

Me and my neighbors have pushed out tweekers in our neighborhood, only to have others move in later, it gets old.

Calls to Law Enforcement, sometimes work, but often they are overwhelmed and just ignore it.

My idea, start a discussion forum for people in lewis county to network about the goings on in different neighborhoods throughout lewis county as far as trouble spots (tweekerdoms I like to call them)

Some people are to afraid to call cops, because the tweekers find out often times who the callers are (I’m not talking about tweeker snitches trying to stay out of jail)

If we could network and help others report activity I think it would be a step in the right direction.

Lets say Paulla in glenoma, has neighbors that are tweekers, they stay up all night, constant traffic, things come up missing, but she lives alone and is afraid to call the law because of fear of reprisals, well hell, she can contact me in winlock, or jeff in packwood, or jenny in morton via the discussion forum, we can then contact law enforcement make them aware of the situation.

My friends, I know this is a simplistic sounding solution, but I think it is an idea that could work, not miracles, but maybe stem the flow of this crap.

I know there are people out there who could take this to the next level, not me however, I’m not techie, but I’ll volunter as a deputy (wheres my smilie)I do have a few friends in Law Enforcement, I think they would like the concept.

I want to hear opinions on this….

  14. Sick of the tweekers says:

Typical tweekers sticking up for tweekers, get help or get the phuk out of our county, we are plum fed up with this shyt…

  15. George says:

Brittany, you might want to put the pipe down and slowly back away from it….

Booth is GUILTY. That means the jury found irrefutable proof that he did, in fact, brutally murder THREE people and try to murder another. All in the name of DRUGS. “Self defense” would have been if he had shot just the one person who pulled a weapon out. Walking around the house shooting people in the head execution-style is NOT “self defense”. At least not in this reality.

As for the cops “never looking into witness tampering”, where is your proof of that? You are VERY wrong… they take witness tampering VERY seriously. It’s a very serious crime… which is one of the reasons they record calls into and out of the jail.

Unless, of course, you just want all the druggies and dealers to be set free. After all, they ARE such upstanding pillars of the community, right?

  16. Brittany says:

Why do you guys think that LC cops never look into witness tampering? Because they will tell you themselves…they don’t offer any witnesses protection. So why they even care about this one is beyond me. Must be receiving snitch of the year award or something. And as far as making references to the “Booth Murders” did anybody even stop to think about the fact that just because they found him guilty doesn’t mean that he actually did it. And just because he allegedly shot and killed those people doesn’t mean that he walked into their house and was being a monster. They should have taken into consideration that from the stories that they were given it sounded like he allegedly shot in self defense. People don’t know what was going on. People don’t know what really happened. So why do people continue to sit there and gossip about it? If you didn’t see if with your own eyes, hear it with your own ears, then it shouldn’t come out of your mouth. Right?

  17. Lisarae says:

A family that loves him and cares for him? Really? His mother went to jail with him. His brother, I believe is still in prison for a murder he commited as a juvenile. His poor children? Where are they? Oh ya, they are being raised by his grandmother. This kid is a PUNK! Always has been, and he deserves whatever Lewis County gives him. And I agree with the idea that no one would notice or care if he were to never see the streets of Packwood again, with the exception of his clientel, who will get their crap from his mommy!

  18. Reader says:

Auntie, Trying to blame anyone and everyone else for this man’s deeds will never right the wrong in his life.

LIfe is hard for many people, but participating in the drug culture isn’t the answer. In fact it makes life even harder. Like ending up sitting in jail.

The whole culture is so very harmful to the the participants, their families, and their community. Witness the horrible murders committed by Booth.

Blaming this guy’s problems on people who “snitched” instead of seeing that he brought them on himself won’t let him see that change is up to him.

No one wants to be “told on” but an innocent person need not worry.

  19. George says:

Basically, if the guy wants to talk about how he can’t spend time in jail or prison because of his children, then perhaps he should have thought about that beforehand. Stop making these druggies out to be martyrs…. they aren’t. If anything, they should be made pariahs… expunged from the community.

Don’t want to do the time? Don’t do the crime. It’s as easy as that.

  20. Rebelwithacuase says:

Yes Auntie, everyone makes mistakes. I’ve made many myself and count each one as a lessoned learned, but some people just never learn from them as this guy obviously has not. Sad to say but I think his children would be much better off NOT being around their dope dealing father.

  21. Auntie says:

And for the comment that said lock him up throw away the key no one would notice or care….Well I disagree with you and so would 3 little kids that will miss their Daddy very much so for you to say such a rude thing all I can hope is that you have no children or family member that makes a mistake and ends up in jail cause you are very cold hearted and you say you have known him since he was a small child well then you should know he has a family that loves him and will miss him….Not everyone is perfect as you must think you are….

  22. Auntie says:

The drugs fried his brain??? Really ???? Do you know for a fact he even did drugs??? I think NOT!!! Just because he was arrested for selling drugs doesn’t mean he was doing them and someone who didn’t want to do the time for their own crime is being protected by the police…Well hell yes good job L.C cops…Protect your snitches and forget what crime they did because they told on other people…I can’t believe some people would even think that is doing a good job as police officers…If you’re gonna clean things up do it yourselves stop letting people off to give you someone else!!!!! Is that ever gonna clean up the valley????? NOPE

  23. rene rowland says:

I have known this individual since he was a small child and if you locked him up and threw away the key no one would notice or care.

  24. Rebelwithacuase says:

This guy is not only poisoning the community with his dope dealing but looking at his record he’s reckless and dangerous. Only a matter of time before he kills someone or gets himself killed, preferably the later. It’d be a great public service if they locked him up and threw away the key, but they wont becuase he generates too much revinue for the county.

  25. Hmmm.... says:

Ummmm Wth was he thinking?? The jail records inmate phone calls!! It says right when u answer that ur call will be recorded!! OMG guess the drugs fried the brain of that one!! Glad he is getting charged with that crime as well ,all to often witness tampering doesn’t even get looked into until the witness has already been harmed or scared out of testifying!! GOOD POLICE WORK L.C.!!

  26. George says:

Gee, some people never learn! He must have taken lessons from…. well, you know who.
