The Olympian writes that a 19-year-old woman injured in a December head-on crash on U.S. Highway 12 in Rochester is recovering, but slowly.

Mark D. Stone, 43, of Rochester, died when his van struck a guardrail and then crossed into the oncoming lane colliding with an Oldsmobile driven by 19-year-old Carmon L. Gillaspie. The state patrol listed her as a Chehalis resident.

Olympian news reporter Chelsea Krotzer writes that Gillaspie spent four weeks at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with shattered bones in her pelvis, legs and feet. Her mother is planning a benefit at the Chehalis Eagles, according to Krotzer.
