Assault suspect barricades self inside Centralia home

Centralia’s SWAT team was called out to the 3100 block of Galvin Road last night after a suspect in a domestic assault locked himself inside his home and refused to come out.

Police said Kyle W. Elliott, 35, had a previous weapons violation, several felony convictions and neighbors indicated he had been seen recently in possession of firearms.

It began about 7:50 p.m.

Police negotiators tried to contact Elliott by telephone and with a loudspeaker for an hour and a half before “flash devices” and pepper spray were introduced into the home, according to a news release from the Centralia Police Department.

He immediately answered the phone, according to police.

Elliott was taken into custody without further incident and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, but he likely faces additional charges, according to police.

Officers found body armor in his room and planned to further search the home for guns, according to the news release.

He was a “suspect in a domestic assault” jms. Doesn’t sound to me as if he has grown up or changed his ways.

  2. jms says:

first off he diid not have a gun and police used excesive force for no reason they searched the house for a gun but there was no gun to begin with and all his felonys are several years old from his teenage years and police made a big deal b4 talking to neighbors and caused several thousands of damage to home for no reason people do grow up n change their ways

Then, I want their job GuiltyBystander! I disagree, however. I believe that most middle-aged persons with jobs that allow them the luxury of surfing the web while working would be able to actually spell. Otherwise, they’d be unemployed, on welfare, on disability or working some menial unskilled labor type job. I wish there was a way to prove it because I would bet you money that SMFL fits in to one or more of these categories – except for the last one, of course. Why would someone fake poor spelling and grammar? Nothing on this website is going to give them away just because they can actually spell above a first or second grade level.

  4. GuiltyBystander says:

You know, George, I was thinking that after my last post. SMFL is probably some middle-aged man or woman (with a real job) who’s gaming us because he/she’s bored.

  5. George says:

Folks, the best way to respond to “SMFL” is to NOT respond to it. It is most likely nothing more than some idiot troll trying to roil people up and cause problems is all. After all, true thugs and “gangstas” are too stupid to figure out how to work a computer, let alone turn one on… those “on/off” switches are just too confusing.

  6. GuiltyBystander says:

What about the “rights” of the woman this guy was beating on, SMFL? Then again, that’s probably something you’re into.

  7. Disgusted says:

For crying out loud SMFL, will you PLEASE learn to spell!?!?!? Your point is seriously diluted when you come off like an uneducated moron. Of course, I doubt that being taken seriously of very high on your list of priorities. Right? (rhetorical question – look it up in a dictionary)

Furthermore, there is nothing in this story to indicate anyone’s rights were violated. If the dipshit woman-beater has multiple felonies, as is stated here, then he has lost his “right” to possess firearms. Based on that, the police should do whatever they have to do to disarm him so I don’t have to shoot him with my legally concealed weapon someday if he tries violating MY rights!

Are you so defensive because you’re just another lowlife criminal like this guy?

  8. Nikkie says:

How are they violating peoples rights again, smfl?

  9. SMFL says:

CENTRALIA PIGS VIALATING PEOPLE RITES AGAIN

Talk about burning the midnight oil for a report, Sharyn – 3:30 am! Thanks for posting!
