A SWAT team helped serve a search warrant this morning at a Chehalis residence following an ongoing drug investigation.

As many as a dozen officers converged on the home on Southwest First Street near Market Boulevard just after 9 o’clock, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

“It went down without incident,” police detective Sgt. Brian Hickey said.

Arrested for delivery of a controlled substance was Richard E. Engel, 22, who lives at the home, Hickey said. Also arrested was Lonzo W. Lawson II, 32, he said. A woman who was present was detained but then released, he said.

Officers spent about two and a half hours searching the home and found an as-yet unspecified amount and type of drugs, according to Hickey.

Hickey said they have primarily been seeing heroin from the investigation.

Strong work Chehalis PD and their newly formed drug enforcement team. The well will never dry up but the cock roaches will keep scattering as you keep hitting them where it hurts.
