TRUCKS STOLEN FROM CAR DEALERSHIP

• Chehalis police were called about 9 a.m. yesterday when an auto dealership on the 1900 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue discovered two brand new trucks were stolen from the lot overnight. Taken from Uhlmann’s I-5 Toyota were a silver 2012 Toyota Tundra and a dark gray Toyota Tacoma. They were doubled-cabbed, lifted and sporting large tires and chrome wheels, according to police.

JEWELRY HEIST

• Someone forced their way into a home on the 900 block of Shorey Road outside Chehalis yesterday and left with nearly $12,000 worth of jewelry, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. It happened between 7:50 a.m. and 3 p.m., Cmdr. Steve Aust said. Among the missing pieces are a gold necklace with an emerald, a silver garnet ring, a large opal ring and an aquamarine white gold ring, according to Aust.

MONEY MISSING

• Chehalis police were called to the 300 block of South Market Boulevard in Chehalis about 10:30 a.m. yesterday after a woman left her apartment door open while she went to get her mail and returned to find her wallet missing. It was subsequently found in the laundry room minus $35 cash, according to Chehalis police.

• Centralia police were called just before 11 a.m. yesterday to the 2000 block of Cooks Hill Road about money stolen from a purse. The theft is under investigation.

BREAK-IN IN CENTRALIA

• Centralia police were called at about 8:20 p.m. yesterday regarding a possible burglary at the 200 block of Northup Street. A door had been pried open and officers were told someone fled before getting inside, according to the Centralia Police Department. Nothing was taken, police reported.

ATV THEFTS

• A 2005 Kazuma ATV was stolen from a  driveway on the 5500 block of Jackson Highway near Toledo sometime after 10 p.m. Wednesday and before 7 a.m. yesterday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

• Deputies recovered a stolen ATV and arrested a suspect yesterday after taking a report from the 100 block of Oak Drive outside Chehalis. A 2001 Yamaha Raptor valued at $2,000 went missing from a shop on the property sometime since Aug. 31 and the victim suspected his girl friend’s ex-husband, who reportedly admitted to taking it, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. William D. Ayers, 45, of Chehalis, was booked in to the Lewis County Jail for second-degree burglary, Cmdr. Steve Aust said.

HIDING WOMAN FOUND BY POLICE

• Twenty-four-year-old Amanda M. Hickey of Centralia was arrested for rendering criminal assistance when she allegedly lied about the whereabouts of a woman being sought on a Department of Corrections warrant just after 12 p.m. yesterday at the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. Hickey was released after being issued a citation but Dannette L. Burgess, 43, of Centralia, who was found hiding in a bathroom was arrested and booked for the warrant, according to the Centralia Police Department.

VEHICLE PROWL

• Police took a report of a purse stolen from a vehicle about 5:20 a.m. today at the 300 block of South Street in Centralia.

DRUGS

• Centralia police arrested two people for possession of methamphetamine after 6 o’clock this morning at the 1200 block of Alder Street. Booked into the Lewis County Jail were Raclynn D. Gonzales, 46, of Chehalis and Eric J. Vanasch, 36, of Centralia, according to the Centralia Police Department.
