BULLYING AT THE PLAYGROUND

• Chehalis police called to Penny Playground yesterday afternoon by an individual who said three teenage girls were screaming and yelling at another girl for more than 30 minutes arrested the trio for disorderly conduct. The 15-year-old target of their discontent told an officer one of them had been bullying her for almost a year, according to the Chehalis Police Department. A 15-year-old and a pair of 14-year-olds, from Chehalis and Centralia, were cited and then released at the scene, Officer Linda Bailey said.

FULL MOON OVER CHEHALIS

• In the 12 hours that began about 4:30 p.m. yesterday, police in Chehalis were called to eight more incidents of people yelling, arguing or otherwise flipping out around town, including to the 400 block of North Market Boulevard in which the caller said a couple in the apartment above were throwing things at each other and a box of goldfish crackers came down at the caller from a window. None resulted in any arrests.

TAVERN TROUBLES

• When police responded to a complaint of assault at a Centralia bar around closing time last night, a 25-year-old man who allegedly kept shoving his phone in the officers’ faces was arrested for obstruction. Police Sgt. Kurt Reichert said the man was told it was fine to take video but he needed to step back and refused to do so. Patrick D. Eastman was cited for interfering and then released, according to the Centralia Police Department. It happened on the 200 block of North Tower Avenue. Officers completed a report from a patron who said when an employee tried to take his drink away, the glass bumped him in the mouth. The matter is being passed along to the city attorney for evaluation of any possible charge, according to Reichert.

JEWELRY BOX GRABBED THROUGH WINDOW

• A 29-year-old Onalaska man was arrested for burglary after someone reported they saw him open a bedroom window, reach in and steal a jewelry box from a nightstand at the 200 block of Allison Road in Ethel. A deputy called at 10 a.m. yesterday to the home of his ex-girlfriend also noted a violation of a protection order, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Jonathan I. Shipp was located later elsewhere and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.

BURGLARY IN SILVER CREEK

• A deputy took a report yesterday evening from the 2900 block of U.S. Highway 12 in Silver Creek about a burglary to a trailer belonging to a 67-year-old woman who is locked up in jail. It apparently occurred sometime between Oct. 6 and Wednesday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENT MISSING

• A child’s clarinet was stolen at school, according to a report made to Centralia police yesterday morning from the 200 block of East Oakview Avenue.

CAR PROWL

• A stereo was reported stolen out of a vehicle on the 500 block of South Ash Street in Centralia yesterday. It apparently occurred overnight, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called just after 1 p.m. yesterday about a vehicle prowl on Northeast Kresky Avenue.

• Police were called yesterday morning about windows being found broken out of a vehicle at the 1400 block of Delaware Avenue in Centralia.

SUSPECTED DRUGS INSIDE JAIL, INMATE

• A 27-year-old inmate was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital for an “in-depth search and observation” after she allegedly introduced contraband into the jail. A deputy was informed yesterday morning that Jobie K. Watson was in a holding cell when a corrections officer heard a metal tin drop onto the floor, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The officer entered and found half a tin, two pills and other unspecified personal items, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said. The hospital reported finding nothing, Brown said. The partially dissolved tablets are being sent in for analysis, according to Brown. Watson had been booked the night before for possession of methamphetamine.

METH ARREST

• A 28-year-old Randle man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine when deputies were called to assist a Department of Corrections officer yesterday morning and an incident of an alleged violation of a protection order at the 300 block of Kiona Road in Randle. Eldon J. Purdy was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

WRECK

• A 17-year-old Centralia girl was taken to the hospital with leg pain after she lost control of her vehicle and rolled it onto its top yesterday morning on the 200 block of Brim Road in  Onalaska. A deputy called to the scene about 7:45 a.m. cited her for speeds too fast, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
