A suspect in a Centralia-area burglary who barricaded himself inside a Tumwater residence saying he would not go back to prison is in the Lewis County Jail this morning, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Jason A. Goudy, 32, allegedly loaded various items into his silver BMW after being seen dropping them into a field near the 3800 block of Mayberry Road and Russell Road on Friday morning, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigating deputies found the front door open of a home for sale and discovered more than $1,000 worth of valuables missing, such as a vacuum, pool cues and a French press coffee maker Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said.

An attempt to locate was put out on the car and it was found later at a residence on the 6700 block of Kirsop Road in Tumwater, Brown said.

Thurston County’s SWAT team was called and when Lewis County’s SWAT team arrived around 5:15 p.m., they learned Goudy had walked out and given himself up, according to Brown.

Goudy, who lives in Tumwater, was arrested for residential burglary, Brown said.

The Olympian reports Goudy barricaded himself in the home about 1:45 p.m. and gave himself up about 5 p.m.
