Winds in Winlock this morning blew multiple trees over in the Frost Road Trailer Park damaging two homes.

Only one injury was reported; a man struck by a small branch, according to Lewis County Fire District 15.

“His injuries were minor, he declined to be transported, so we’re grateful for that,” Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Anderson said.

Anderson said gusts this morning of up to 43 mph were measured at the elementary school. The fire department has been hearing of lots of power lines and trees down, he said.

“It’s a mess,” Anderson said.

The park is on the east side of Interstate 5, on the 700 block of Frost Road.

Anderson said some of the trees down on Frost Road are quite large, and newly unprotected after property to the south was recently logged.

We live to the east of the logged area. Fortunately they removed all the large trees adjacent to our property line eliminating the danger to us and the power lines. So sorry for the folks who were hurt or damaged!! I’m glad it was worse!!
