Chehalis mom who agreed to work with police targeted in drug sting

CHEHALIS – A 33-year-old Chehalis mother is being held in the Lewis County Jail after she allegedly three times sold small quantities of methamphetamine from her home while police were surveilling.

Nora M. Davis was arrested on Friday morning after police served a search warrant at her home on the 200 block of Southwest Second Street. There, they found a man who answered the door with suspected meth in his pants and then in her bedroom, a scale for weighing drugs as well as a bag of suspected meth and a glass pipe, according to charging documents and police.

Chehalis police had given Davis a break in July after meth residue was found on a pipe in her purse, offering her a chance to become a confidential informant instead of a drug charge, but she failed to follow through, according to prosecutors.

Davis has no criminal history. A judge yesterday ordered her held on $10,000 bail.

Charging documents describe how Davis then became a target for another confidential informant who in October, November and last Thursday allegedly purchased $20 and $60 amounts of the drug during visits to Davis’s home.

Lewis County Deputy Prosecutor Eric Eisenberg said the 41-year-old Chehalis man – Thomas D. Crews – who was arrested on Friday morning was being released from jail without charges.  Eisenberg wouldn’t say why.

Davis is charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of possession. She is expected to make her pleas on Thursday in Lewis County Superior Court.

  1. Yes it’s very good to start a neighborhood watch, or install security cameras and bolt your safe to the floor. The facts are the police usualy just show up to take or make a report. The crimes are just heresay if you cannot record them on video. Look at the article last year, where the man was caught stealing from a womans freezer. I think he didn’t like Lasanga. But anyways America is quickly becoming a total failure of a nation. Taxes and jobs are few and far between. What scares me the most that on the Day of the Sandy School Shooting there were 20 fatal knife stabbings in Chinese schools. Oh and Lets not forget that Obama is dropping smart bombs and killing inocent civilians all over the world. Our local Police preffer Tweekers and criminals, the Job Security is always there and they can beat people while pretending to protect and serve and pose as our saviors. Just a Thought to your thought.

Straight Edge, I agree with you to a certain extent. Any woman who subjects their kids to that kind of environment is a lousy mother who doesn’t have her priorities straight. If she does learn from this and take advantage of the help offered in prison (assuming she goes to prison – where she belongs) I do think it is possible for her to learn to be a decent mother and maybe reverse some of the damage she has done . . . or at least do no further harm.

I noticed that Davis was quietly released from jail several days ago. Since her “job” was dealing, and probably drawing welfare, I doubt she was able to post $10,000 bail. Could this mean she has possibly agreed to cooperate again? How is that going to work in light of this story? I guess the cops are counting on the fact that tweakers are collectively stupid and probably don’t read much, let alone know how to find this site on the internet. Otherwise, she is going to have a hard time carrying out successful controlled buys on anyone in this town ever again!

Davis is yet another reason that all recipients of welfare or SSI should have to pass frequent random drug screens before they receive OUR money! And if they fail, they should be penalized with sanctions that take away the handout for at least 3-6 months for the first offense, and increasingly longer periods for subsequent offenses. It’s bad enough they get something for nothing, but if they are spending it on drugs, they deserve nothing for nothing!

I live on Cascade. Close to this neighborhood. My son’s walk down that street to go see their friend. We walk our dog down that street. It’s been really bad around here the last 5 years of so. I’ve had people on my porch stealing cigarette butts, our cars broken into, and tweeks… Think it’s time to start a Neighborhood Watch! Or move out of the city all together!

  4. Straight Edge says:

Disgusted, I think you are too optimistic… I don’t think that straightening up after a two or three year prison stint will fix the damage already done to her child… who lived in a drug house with active meth (and other) drug use.

As sad as it may seem, I think drug addicts busted for felony drug charges need to give up parental rights as part of the deal. Relapse rates are less than half (far less) and in the case of heroin, less than 10 percent. Why put the kids’ well being on the line for those odds?

If a parent can put together a few YEARS of sobriety, then SUPERVISED visitations might allow the kid to get to know the person who birthed him… but any “parenting” has to take second place to the addict’s recovery… for the sake of the addict and the kids.

Harsh… yeah. But probably a kinder approach long term.

Whatever it takes to get tweekersl off streets!

  6. Do your own damn time says:

This is so chicken shit of all these people…criminals doing the cops job for them. Pick a side of the fence: Cop or criminal, u can’t be both. It’s pathetic that these idiots can slip enough to get caught with shit or doing shit, but not their own time, they have to drag someone else down with them…and my God..this bitch got caught with some shit in a pipe and NO criminal record. What this is here(not that we all don’t appreciate the info)is the cops are pissed that she backed out and now they have to do their own jobs and they are putting her on blast and announcing to the world of Lewis County criminals and drug addicts that she is a ratt who can’t be trusted. She’s weak and as disgusting as the cops who don’t even have the skills or sack to do their own investigating. Didnt ur mama teach u in grade school not to be a tattle tale? And didn’t they teach the cops how to do their job in the acadamy? The system makes me sick

I would say “somepeeps” is correct. Thomas Crews may very well be a snitch (CI or whatever else you want to call them). If he isn’t a CI, then he must have agreed to testify against Davis in order for the charges to be dropped. I guess it’s the only way to put a stop to these people but I have a problem allowing one criminal to avoid consequences by tattling on another who basically committed the same crimes. As for Davis’ child, most tweakers don’t possess the wherewithall to keep their kids protected from their drug related activities. I can just about guarantee you that he was exposed to things a child should never be exposed to. I mean, how stupid is someone that has been arrested and offered immunity to continue doing what they were arrested for? Rhetorical question. the answer is: they have to be epically stupid. I just hope that Davis gets it together for her kids sake when she gets out of prison.

  8. chazzy says:

When. The police let u off a felony charge.dont take this lightly.this is not a game to them.if u do the crime do the time and seek treatment!!!

  9. Guilty Bystander says:

I’m wondering where the kid was while all this was going on. Not that being turned over to CPS would necessarily be an improvement, but still…

  10. somepeeps says:

    Clearly Thomas Crews Is Now.

  11. chris says:

    Eric Eisenberg now a CI…….?
