CENTRALIA – An advertisement on Craigslist by a Centralia man of medical marijuana for sale led to an armed robbery and then several shots being fired in front of his house before the suspects fled.

Two suspects were subsequently arrested in Lacey.

Police called about 12:40 p.m. today to the 200 block of East Van Buren Street learned the 28-year-old Centralia man placed an online ad indicating he had some “extra quality meds” up for donation for medical marijuana patients, according to Centralia police. He listed the price as $125 per ounce, according to police.

When the buyers arrived to Van Buren Street, the seller got in their car and was ordered at gunpoint to hand over the marijuana, according to police. A short struggle ensued, he was struck in the side of the face with a handgun but then escaped their white Hyundai, according to police.

The 28-year-old man then fired several shots at the fleeing vehicle, striking it numerous times, according to police.

The man’s injuries are described as minor; his name has not been released.

Centralia Police Department detective Sgt. Pat Fitzgerald said the victim claims to be a medical marijuana provider and it is illegal to sell it to anyone, but that’s not the focus of the investigation tonight.

Two teenagers from Tacoma were taken into custody in a parking lot off Pacific Avenue in Lacey after their car was spotted by a trooper this afternoon, according to Officer John Panco. The car was impounded and will be searched on Monday, Fitzgerald said.

Booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree robbery were Yahdriel E. Jones, 18, and Howard E. Ross 19, according to the Centralia Police Department.

“Really, dude? You think the CPD should’ve been up in Lacey looking for a white Hyundai”

    Yes he does.

Your forgetting that there are people out there who think those freeway cameras have a sophisticated enough camera system to do facial recognition or license plate reading. Never mind that they are so poor in resolution that you can’t hardly tell the difference between a BMW and a Buffalo when it’s foggy let alone raining.

“Even with the new laws for pot that just past what is going to happen to the guy that posted the ad on Craigslist.”

Nothing. It’s perfectly legal to offer legal medical marijuana on Craigslist to other patients.

“It is still illegal for him to one sell (although he wasn’t) and it has all ways been illegal to give it away and always will be.”

No it’s not illegal for an authorized medican cannabis patient to share his medicine with other legal patients.

“Giving pot away falls under trafficking.”

No it does not. Sharing legal medical marijuana with legal patients is legal in Washington State.

“So will we see charges against this person.”

No because the patient was doing nothing illegal and was robbed at gunpoint. In what parallel backwoods universe would it be okay to charge the victim of a robbery with a crime when they were not committing a crime? What would they charge him with? Being a legal cannabis patient?

“What it comes down to is if he would not tried to give drugs away on a public form none of this would have came down.”

That is preposterous! What it comes down to is if those assholes hadn’t tried taking property that doesn’t belong to them, none of this would have happened.

“Remember they guy up north that had a diamond ring for sell on Craigslist and what happened to him. Learn by what you read….”

We live in a dangerous world. You seem like you’re scared of your own shadow. There is nothing inherently dangerous about selling legal property to the public. The danger comes from the people who refuse to work and can’t make their own money so they feel the need to steal from other people.

No, the police are obviously too busy conducting middle school pot investigations bringing down the “big fish”.

If it weren’t for outside agencies and snitches, there would be nothing to stop crime in Lewis County.

You have a prosecutor that is too chickenshit to take criminals to trial for fear that his oustanding incompetence will lead to a mis-trial or a re-trial altogether.

You got a a judge who accepts a plea deal from a guy who anally raped an 8 year old and they even go so far as to convince the poor girl’s father that it is the right choice to save her from “reliving the experience”.

That’s b.s. There is DNA evidence. There is no need for further proof or testimony. DNA is slam dunk with or WITHOUT witnesses. DNA is the witness and testimony.

But, as long as there are hadr-core middle schoolers with pot the CPD has it’s hands full and can’t possible take time out of that busy schedule to do real police-work.

What if there were no snitches? Then what would the CPD do to solve crime?

  6. Looks like Marijuana Prohibition has it’s own “Mini Capones” shooting it out on the streets of Centralia. The war on drugs is just another example of failed Government Policy. The pollice are just here to take reports after the fact. Another preventable crime, Legalize, Educate and Regulate…. Prescription pain killers will kill over 20 people just today in the United States and Prescription medicine is legal. Oh the Government makes total sense.. Tax Payers should be outraged.

Really, dude? You think the CPD should’ve been up in Lacey looking for a white Hyundai? And are you sure the Lacey PD employs “troopers?” That’s typically WSP, isn’t it? And why can’t you support the local force? – nevermind, your disdainful use of the word “snitch” tells us everything we need to know.

  8. bahlsdeep says:

    OLJ,

Hit yourself in the nuts for being you. Lacey PD wasn’t involved, it was Troopers who caught them. They knew what to look for after CPD put out a BOLO im sure. Knowing you to be a defender of medicinal marijuana, where’s the crime here? Trying to sell “medicine” and almost getting capped for it should be a victimless crime. Even after the State sets up the legal routes to sell marijuana, people like this will continue to sell their “medicine” for profit. I say sprinkle crack on all involved and call it solved.

  9. OldLongJohnson says:

    Great Job Lacey PD!!!

Going the extra mile and accomplishing the jobs that the Centralia PD just can’t seem to handle.

It seems that without snitches, the Federal Govt., or outside police agencies, there would nothing to stop crime in lewis county.
