Trying to apply logic to an Occupier mentality is rarely successful, J.Z. I have a brother-in-law like that and it’s just not worth the effort.

  2. J.Z. says:

“You see nothing wrong with corporations that steal from hard working families.”

Point out where I said that.

“In fact, you think that people who fight back against corporate abuses should be in jail.”

I never gave my personal opinion. I stated the fact that theft is illegal, and will land you in jail. Fighting against corporate abuses is a noble goal; shoplifting is legally defined as theft, no matter what your socio-politically inspired motives are. That’s not ‘what I think’; that’s the law, which I did not write nor do I enforce.

  3. OldLongJohnson says:

No, I never said that and you are twisiting words.

You see nothing wrong with corporations that steal from hard working families.

In fact, you think that people who fight back against corporate abuses should be in jail.

I never once encouraged YOU to do anything. Unlike you however, I don’t think it’s WRONG to fight back against tyranny any way you can.

  4. J.Z. says:

So, because I don’t go stealing things from Walmart, I approve of and accept corporate abuse of customers and employees, and am fine with soulless capitalism. Way to put words in my mouth. I guess a straw-man argument is more fun than addressing what I actually said, which is that theft is never as victimless as you say it is, that somewhere, sometime, a real person just trying to make a living is going to be hurt. Oh, and that IT’S AGAINST THE LAW. What you think of as making a stand against monolithic capitalism is called theft and shoplifting by the Courts. It leads to jail. If you think stealing can be explained away to a judge, no matter how right you think your point is, you’re the one who is ignorant of how the real world works.

  5. OldLongJohnson says:

The problem with your way of thinking is that you are unable to see the big picture.

Throwing all your chips into a big corporation, ruining the lives of people around you, and claiming to be a ‘victim’ when business goes bad is ridiculous.

Yeah, corporation hire a lot of people, too many people in fact under one company.

People like you would prefer to have ONE company go out of business while you sit back and watch THOUSANDS of people suffer because you think big business is the best way.

It is better to hava a couple small companies go out of business so that the entire town isn’t unemployed when the CEO decides it’s cheaper to move to Mexico.

See, the problem with the typical American is that they are so happy to bend over and allow the corporation to take and rape whatever and whomever they feel like and then they tell themselves that it’s “Okay to be ruined and raped because the corporation is God.”

If a company can’t take responsibility for poor management that results in theft, then they don’t deserve to have a business. The fact that corporations are willing to behave poorly, suffer negative consequences, and then pass that responsibilty onto innocent consumers is the epitome of BAD business.

But don’t take my word for it. Keep shoveling your money into Wal-Marts coffers and continue paying higher prices due to thieves. But, if companies like Wal-Mart actually cared about anything other than money, they would put a stop to it. But since they have an army of suckers like you who don’t care and will be willing to pay higher prices, then so be it.

But don’t sit there trying to say that it’s okay for one person or group of people to attack and destroy another group and that they can’t fight back. That’s just dumb and highlights an extreme level of ingnorance of how the real world works.

  6. J.Z. says:

OLJ…Problem with that thinking is, the Big Companies employ little, average people. And when inventory goes missing, they are apt to blame the employees, either accusing them of stealing, or saying they aren’t guarding the merchandise well enough. Then, the Big Company makes back its money by docking pay, or firing experienced employees and hiring new people who won’t be eligible for raises for months (if not years). So stealing from them isn’t going to hurt the corporate entity as much as it will the local people employed there. Theft will always have a real impact on real people.

And beyond that, stealing is very simply against the law. You can give a heartwarming, inspiring Robin Hood-type speech to the judge all you want, you’re still going to end up in jail. To me, that’s not worth some vague, poorly thought out stick-it-to-the-rich philosophy.

  7. Guilty Bystander says:

And I was twisting YOUR words? Thanks for the vitriol, though.

  8. OldLongJohnson says:

“So two wrongs really do make a right?”

    Nice attempt at semantics.

There is NOTHING WRONG with stealing from someone or a company that hurts the general public.

Would you disagree that it is wrong to steal the freedom of a pedophile from raping a child?

If justice is wrong, then where does freedom come in? Or is that just an “externality”?

No, freedom isn’t a term to be bantered around and theorized upon. If you fuck up, you have the freedom to be corrected. Same goes for thieves that steal from hard-working folk.

If you steal from moms and pops that are just trying to feed family and not actively working on shutting down other local businesses or buying up distressed properties to sell to fake offshore bank accounts, then you deserve to get ripped off and worse.

This is America. If you want to rip off hard working people, then move to Mexico. But if you want to steal from people and companies that tear apart working families, then God Bless You and MERRY X-MAS!!

  9. Guilty Bystander says:

So two wrongs really do make a right? Can’t agree with you, OLJ, although I can sympathize with your reasoning. Stealing is still stealing, and taking from even the worst among us is to sink to their level. We should try to be better than that, hard as it can be at times.

  10. OldLongJohnson says:

It’s okay to steal from people and companies that hurt the general public.

  11. DCE, why the name change???? I think it’s good to switch it up once in a while. Everyone knows it’s still me, that horrible speller and that right wing foil hat conspiracey theroy guy that know’s fluoride kills. Yes I said God Bless those who steal, I feel that all life needs to have hope and even those whom steal need hope and blessings also. I don’t agree with theft, but if you ever had to walk in my shoes as a child. I stole just to eat, because I had no one around to take care of me and I was a Minor. So yes, I say again God Bless Those Whom Steal. Stealing for food and stealing food is sometimes. I’m sure I’ll be called a professional victim for this comment, but as a Child I had to steal for my school supplies and clothing. My parents were no where to be found and I was a Survivor that wanted a fair chance in life, and to do that sometimes I stole or mislead people to obtain money for my survival. I hold my head in shame, but I never forget what I had to do as a child to be here today. Merry Christmas for what’s left of America.

  12. J.Z. says:

Disgusted said, “…they should eliminate welfare, SSI and other entitlement programs…”

Get rid of SSI and those with actual disabilities who need help will be ruined. Disability payments aren’t an ‘entitlement’; all the years I worked, I was compelled to pay into the system. When my disabilities finally became too much for me to be able to sustain employment, I (grudgingly and with no small amount of pride loss) applied for Federal Disability. Between Social Security and SSI, I barely get by. If you could work your will, I’d be out on the street begging for change. (And so you know, I’m not one of those people who think addiction is a valid disability. If someone is a physical and/or mental wreck because of their own stupid choices rather than chance or fate, that’s their problem.)

“Better start storing food, guns and ammo and have a plan for the total dissolution of society as we know it today.”

Yeah, that’s what Right-wingers said four years ago. And back in 1992 and 1996 when Clinton was elected. And just like every other doomsday scenario ever predicted, it never seems to happen.

  13. Disgusted says:

DCE, why the name change???? You said: “Bless Centralia and all those who have to go without this year and steal.”

Bless those who steal? Are you serious? I agree with you much of the time, but not in this case. I agree that lack of decent work is a huge problem. Blame it on that POS Obama. He is flushing us all down the shitter . . . and if you think it’s bad now, wait and see what it’s like four years from now. Better start storing food, guns and ammo and have a plan for the total dissolution of society as we know it today.

Here I go again . . . can you tell I have a problem with someone getting a free ride by the amount of time I spend bitching about it?

Besides providing jobs, they should eliminate welfare, SSI and other entitlement programs and give losers that don’t work the opportunity (and no choice but) to work. What most of these tweakers and bums fail to realize is that the more of them that go on the dole, the less of us workers there are to pay taxes and support them. What happens one day when they outnumber us and those that work are so heavily burdened by taxes that we give up and join the ranks of the chronically unemployed? We were once the greatest country on earth. Sadly, we never will be again unless we somehow rid ourselves of the politicians that seek to enslave us and the leeches that are dragging us down.

  14. Let’s pray for Centralia as America turns into a 3rd World Country. Where are all of the Good Jobs? I want crime to go down and people to have options to work for their families. To prove there are no Extra Jobs in Centralia, call Work Source in Centralia at 6 in the morning each day and ad your name to the work list. I will gaurantee you will not be called back for employment. The fact is Children are being chained to Poles in China, because American jobs have been outsourced. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1267794/Tethered-safe-Chinese-workers-forced-tie-youngsters-work-afford-child-care.html Please make homemade Christmas Gifts this year and save America from total failure. Bless Centralia and all those who have to go without this year and steal. I wish I could feed and employ all that need a helping hand. May God have mercy on the Evil Doers that have fleeced America. Please give to the needy make a difference.. DCE
