Elaine Clark, part owner of the Fantasy Shop, said the business had such a bad Christmas, they were hoping for a better Valentine season.

BANDIT LOADS UP ON  ADULT SEX TOYS, BEDROOM APPAREL

• A gloved, ski mask-wearing burglar used duct tape to cover up security cameras at a Chehalis adult store and loaded up his truck with merchandise while it was closed yesterday morning. It happened at The Fantasy Shop on the 800 block of West Main Street near the park and ride lot between 7:10 a.m. and 8:15 a.m., according to the Chehalis Police Department. He made off with at least $2,000 worth of adult toys and other items such as dress up clothing and blow up dolls, Sgt. Gwen Carrell said. “Kind of the high-end stuff,” Carrell said. “So he knew what he was looking for and left the junk.” Police say surveillance footage shows he first tried to get in by ramming the front doors with his pickup truck and when that failed, broke a window. Officers responded to an alarm and brought in a police dog, but the man was gone, according to police. Police are asking anyone with information to please call them. The subject is described as a thin, white, middle-aged man with short brown hair and a wide widow’s peak who was wearing a Carhart-type jacket, jeans and possibly tennis shoes. The vehicle is a white, probably 1990s Ford Ranger with a roof that has chipping paint and rust, as well as chipped spots on its tailgate, according to Carrell. It has what she described as split-lid, diamond box tool box, she said. Elaine Clark, part owner of the Fantasy Shop, said she would imagine someone at the park and ride that time in the morning could have seen something. Clark said the business had such a bad Christmas, they were hoping for a better Valentine season. They still have plenty of merchandise left, she said.

SHOE STORE THEFT

• Two males and a female described by Centralia police only as black reportedly shoplifted eight pairs of shoes from the Nike store on the 100 block of High Street in Centralia last night. Police called about 7:30 p.m. were told workers lost sight of the trio when they ran across a parking lot, according to the Centralia Police Department. Police think they fled in a vehicle.

FUEL STOLEN

• Police were called about 4:30 p.m. yesterday about gasoline stolen from U-Haul trucks parked on the 1000 block of South Gold Street in Centralia.

JEWELRY THEFT

• Centralia police were called about 12:23 p.m. yesterday to the 1100 block of West Plum Street regarding a stolen ring. The victim said it was a one karat diamond ring valued at $1,500, according to the Centralia Police Department.

TRUCK PROWL
• A deputy was called yesterday to the 100 block of Olequa Drive near Vader where a man told them that sometime since Monday, someone prowled his pickup truck and made off with a tool tray, a spot light, 70 CDs in a case and other items.

Stealing is wrong no matter what, and the thief should be found and prosecuted, especially as he took such care to cover his tracks – definitely a thoughtful process.

I really can’t feel bad for these people. They run a porn shop and have a little girl, not a great situation in my eyes (not judging, discerning – learn the difference). The owners are aiding in the sex-slave industry. Seattle is well-known for being a hot bed (no pun intended) of underage prostitution rings.

I’m not suggesting that the punishment should be lessened because of where the crime was committed, just now we have a thief and a well-supplied sex addict on the loose in our area.

It will be sad if the thief (or his friends) are caught only after committing a terrible crime against another person because of the tools he now possesses. Hopefully they won’t pull the “I wasn’t at that park/I was on drugs and didn’t know what I was doing” ploy, or “I was just giving her a bath”. It works, sadly, all too well in this area.

Chris, after watching some of the security video, it looks as though he spent quite a bit of time outside, covering the cameras and what-have-you. Then when he finally broke the window and went inside, he moved around really quickly gathered up stuff and got right out. I’m thinking the alarm may not have / must not have triggered until he broke the window. I could be wrong … — Sharyn Decker

“ski mask-wearing burglar used duct tape to cover up security cameras at a Chehalis adult store and loaded up his truck with merchandise” “Officers responded to an alarm and brought in a police dog, but the man was gone, according to police.” ………….The police station is just a couple blocks away frm here. With a silent alarm going off for long enough to load a truck. what kind of respond time was that? Why have an alarm if no one comes?

Yes, just raid every house on State St and when you come across one that has a gas you’ll have your culprit. Get to it…

p.s. How do you know it was the people you are referring to? Did you catch one of them mowing the lawn?
