LARGER GOVERNMENT IS NEVER THE ANSWER. CUT LAW ENFORCEMENT SPENDING. WE INCARCERATE MORE PEOPLE PER CAPITA THAN ANY OTHER NATION IN THE WORLD. SO MUCH FOR TOLERANCE.

  2. Soaper says:

“paying the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office to respond to emergencies, with a base fee of $110 per call.”

That is ridiculous (imo)! Why does it cost that much? I thought that was part of the Sheriff Department’s job since it is within their jurisdiction. Aren’t they responsible for the whole county? Particularly those areas where there are either limited or no law enforcement services available…which are exactly what Winlock, Vader, Napavine, and Toledo are.

“You end up with a reactive police force, not a proactive police force.” said Toledo reserve officer Sgt. Randy Pennington —

He says that as if it is a bad thing. Having a “proactive” police force/mentality is exactly why there are so many people currently unhappy with the police. It is basically a nice way of saying police thinking they have the right to invade our privacy and encroach on our civil rights. aka “fishing trips” aka “Terry Stops”
