HIGHWAY 6 VEHICLE VERSUS POLE

• A 64-year-old Pe Ell woman was hospitalized after a single-vehicle accident yesterday afternoon on state Route 6 about five miles west of Chehalis. Troopers were called just before 2:30 p.m. when her eastbound truck crossed the centerline and ran into a telephone pole on the opposite side of the highway, according to the Washington State Patrol. Her Dodge Ram came to rest in a ditch and was described as totaled, according to the state patrol. LaDonna M. Turner was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital where she is listed in fair condition this morning, a hospital spokesperson said. The investigating trooper blamed inattention for the wreck.

ASSAULT

• Centralia police yesterday assisted taking into custody a man wanted for an assault the day before. Mic Banks, 27, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department. Banks’ arrest was associated with an address on the 2200 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. Further details were not readily available.

VEHICLE THEFT

• A red and silver 1986 Isuzu Trooper along with a trailer were stolen from the 200 block of West Oakview Avenue in Centralia sometime in the previous three weeks, according to a report made to police at about 4 p.m. on Saturday.

SHOPLIFTING ARREST

• A 27-year-old Chehalis man was arrested about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday for allegedly stealing $59.31 worth of men’s clothing from the Goodwill on the 500 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. The items were recovered and returned to the store, according to police. Christopher D. Buck was booked into the Lewis County Jail also for possession of prescription medication, according to the Centralia Police Department.

TV AND WII GONE

• Centralia police took a report from the 900 block of Marion Street on Saturday afternoon regarding the theft of a flat screen television and a Wii game system.

YARD ART MISSING

• Centralia police were called about 1:15 a.m. yesterday about the theft of a “mushroom lawn ornament” from the 1000 block of West Fourth Street.

VANDALISM

• Police were called about 10:30 p.m. yesterday when a window was discovered broken out at an apartment on the 200 block of West Magnolia Street in Centralia. Apparently nobody got inside and nothing was stolen, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Someone slashed the tires on three different vehicles in the area of the 500 block of Woodland Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police yesterday morning.
