Centralia police are investigating an overnight robbery in which a motorist said she was approached at gunpoint at the 100 block of Harrison Avenue.

Officers called about 12:15 a.m. were told the female was inside her vehicle when a male with a pistol demanded her purse.

She handed it over and he fled to a maroon sedan then left the area, according to the Centralia Police Department.

Police Sgt. Brian Warren said the victim actually knew the man and they were meeting; although Warren didn’t know the details about why.

The victim was not hurt, according to police.

Information from her led police to a residence in the Logan district of Centralia where they arrested Anthony F. Johnson as well as Kaylie J. Longmire. Longmire was driving the car, Warren said.

A gun has been recovered and officers are searching the home this afternoon, according to Warren.

Further information still to come.

hmmm, Alive without my purse or shot dead without my purse – like the shooter would allow me to keep it! Cold dead fingers and all that….. nah, they can have it. Wal-Mart sells purses for pretty cheap, and a funeral could cost my family thousands.

Yes, what’s mine is mine, but again, THINGS are not worth MY LIFE.

I don’t need to read the article to know that!

Did either of you read this article? The victim was meeting this guy at 12:15AM, And I think that that little mini-mart closes at midnight.
Yes, being approached at gun point would be an awful thing.
This just sounds like a drug deal gone bad. What was the victims name? Why wasn’t it released also? And I wouldn’t give up my purse, good luck getting that. Whether it has money in it or not. It doesn’t belong to anyone but me.

I wouldn’t of given him crap! He would of had to pry shit out of my cold dead hands! What a punk! Get a job asshole!!

My purse is not worth my life. I do believe in the right to protect myself, but my things are still not worth my life. I know that some women keep their whole world in their purses, and I would not like to have mine stolen. I keep “dispensable items” in my purse, and my id on my person; I do have my checkbook in my purse, but it has my PO box on it and not my home address, and the bank can be easily notified of the theft…though that does remind me to make sure that I don’t have anything with my home address inside my purse! Nevertheless, to be approached at gunpoint for anything would be terrible, and terrifying.
