MISSING TRUCK

• A red 1987 Ford Ranger was reported stolen just before 2 o’clock this morning from the 1700 block of Cooks Hill Road in Centralia. The 4×4 truck is described as lifted with big tires and a license plate reading B82918G, according to the Centralia Police Department. Its keys had been left inside, according to police.

POLICE: VEHICLE PROWLERS CAUGHT

• A 19-year-old and two younger teens found themselves in trouble in connection with car prowling early yesterday morning in Centralia. Officers responded just after 1 a.m. to the 700 block of South Gold Street in Centralia and arrested Robert D. Knechtel, 19, of Centralia, for vehicle prowl, possession of stolen property and minor in possession of alcohol, according to the Centralia Police Department. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail. The cases involving the boy and the girl are being referred for possible charges of vehicle prowl, according to police.

VANDALISM

• Centralia police took reports of several incidents of graffiti found on the sides of buildings yesterday, including at the 400 block of North Oak Street, 200 block of West Center Street and the 800 block of North Tower Avenue.

• Centralia police responded to the 11000 block of Harrison Avenue about 4:30 a.m. today regarding the windshield of a vehicle being smashed with a rock.

WRECK

• A 49-year-old Chehalis man, Robert O. Holmquist, was injured but not transported to the hospital yesterday evening after a wreck following a tire blow out on his 1996 Chevrolet stepside van on Interstate 5 near the Chamber of Commerce Way interchange, according to the Washington State Patrol. Holmquist was traveling southbound just before 7:30 p.m. and his truck ended up traveling all the way to the right, then all the way back to the left striking the center barrier and rolling, coming to rest on its wheels, according to the state patrol. No citation is expected, according to the investigating trooper. He was wearing a seat belt. The truck was totaled.
