CHEHALIS – Law enforcement officers seized more than $200,000 worth of drugs yesterday from a house south of Chehalis, arresting four individuals.

The raid about 12:30 p.m. at a house on the 2500 block of Jackson Highway yielded both brown powdered heroin and methamphetamine, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

A one-gallon freezer bag which was located was nearly filled with chards of meth some as long as a Sharpie felt pen.

“Those are the biggest crystals I’ve ever seen in my career,” sheriff’s Chief Criminal Deputy Gene Seiber said.

The more than two and half pounds of meth is estimated to have a street value of some $200,000. Nearly 150 grams of heroin discovered inside the home is valued at almost $12,000, according to the sherif’s office.

The Lewis County Regional Crime Task Force and the sheriff’s office SWAT team assisted the Thurston County Narcotics Task Force in serving the search warrant.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Rob Snaza praised the partnership between agencies as being vital to getting drugs off the streets.

“”We recovered a large amount of meth and heroin (yesterday) which made a positive difference in our community,” Snaza said in a news release this morning.

Arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for possession with intent to deliver were:

• Randall D.  Mauel, 42, of Chehalis
• Ryan G. Mauel, 37, of Chehalis
• Jonathan R. Stajduhar, 34, Chehalis
• Tesa M. Hanks, 34, of Centralia

Hanks and Stajduhar are to be released without charges pending further investigation.

Great job! My son died a few months back from a heroin overdose in Centralia. My vision of a healthy world is one where these drugs don’t exist anymore. Until then, my family and I really appreciate your efforts in getting rid of as much heroin and meth as possible. Thanks to all of the people who were involved in helping to make Lewis County a little bit safer this holiday season. Merry Christmas, everyone!!

  2. Great job. says:

Great job task force. Josie I sure hope there was a rat and I hope that rat keeps stepping up to get these scumbags behind bars. I see some of the earlier posts have disappeared about the two not being charged. Being released PINV ( pending investigation )just means that as they develop evidence charges may be coming. Who knows, they may be sending something to the crime lab for verification before they actually bring charges.

  3. questioneverything says:

The article says that the bag of meth “was located”, while the heroin was found in the house? These statements lead me to believe that meth was not found inside the house. So . . . where was the meth found and who put it there?

  4. Newandbetterlife says:

Do you not know how to read or comprehend? Who said anything about reasoning, or it being reasonable? Wow! Maybe you should double or triple read things before you respond to them. That way you wont be looked at as ignorant! Did i say anything that they were doing was O.K. or “reasonable” as you put it ? And did i not say this is good for the community, and god bless Lewis County for getting this poison off the streets? I am glad this happened, just disappointed in some people i know! Now that i practically had to totally repeat my previous post! Damn!! Some people are just ignorant i guess, and there’s no changing it!!

  5. amazing says:

I’ve had plenty of issues in my life, but that doesn’t give me a reason to have 200k of meth and heroin in my living room ready to sell.

That is not something I consider simply an “issue”.

You got a weird idea of what is reasonable.

Just like so many others here, glad these drugs didn’t get on the street and these guys didn’t make any money selling them.

  6. sara says:

People make mistakes. Life moves on. Lets not sit around and praise but how about we don’t judge others, when all humans are faulty. Addicts/Dealers/Totally legal people are all just people. End of story. And these brothers are loved for who they are by people who have nothing to do with drugs with them so lets just let it be.

  7. Newandbetterlife says:

Amazing: You give me a break! You must be that person that has never had your own issues, and has lived the perfect life huh? You give me a break! Who the hell said anything about standing around feeling sorry for anyone you ignorant idiot! I only said i tried to help a couple of them with their addiction! I had no idea at all that there was any “dealing” going on so before you post anymore ignorant bullshit, pull your head out of your ass and fully read what people post before you talk as if you are above them! Also, since when cant something like this sadden someone Einstein? You must not have any loved ones, and/or love anyone if you cant understand that! I guess you do have your own issues! Not knowing what the hell you’re talking about! Figure it out!

  8. hang em all says:

You can sure tell the dopers who comment on here. They sure get their backs up hearing how much people actually them. I’m all for sending them to an island and supplying them with an unending supply of the worst drugs we can find. They could all die happy and stoned and the crime rate would drop at the same time.

  9. amazing says:

This is not sad for the arrested, they are getting what they deserve as drug dealers. Not just users, dealers.

And why are some people talking like a “rat” is a bad thing? They actually did something rather than standing around knowing there is a problem and feeling sorry for drug dealers and how they can’t “break free”.

    Give me a break.

Sound like people have been making excuses for these criminals for years, and still don’t want to admit they are anything but victims.

  10. charlene says:

good job !!! just think of all the kids that would have been directly affected by those drugs…addiction saddens me !! praying for the person I know that got arrested !!!

  11. Newandbetterlife says:

This is good for the community, and sad for these four individuals! People make bad decisions, and I’m sure every single person that has posted on here has made bad decisions! It’s sad that some people cant break free from addiction and end up living most of their lives stuck in it! I know a few of these people, and have tried to help them! I know for a fact 2 of them want out very badly but just couldn’t break free on their own! It’s in a way good that this happened, but in a way it’s sad that this is what it took to hopefully transform their lives back to being as close to normal as possible but it will unfortunately be a life that is behind bars for a long time! A lot of people in this world need help, and these four are definitely some of them! I do also, think someone ratted in this bust, but you gotta know there is a definite possibility of that happening in that corrupt industry. God bless Lewis County for getting this poison off the streets, and may god bless these four and help them snap out of the life of hell they were living in, into a new life of somewhat normalcy even if it is behind bars!

  12. Sunshine says:

These 4 were framed!?!? LMFAO! Yeah right.

  13. Long Time says:

    uguysrblindedbyyourownstupidity:
show compassion you say??? How about these drug dealers show some compassion for our community and the kids they are selling the drugs to. its about time some people own up to their faults and stop blaming others. if they don’t want their families to know the truth, they probably shouldn’t be doing it…plain and simple

  14. uguysrblindedbyyourownstupidity says:

why dont u all show al little compasion you bunch of heartless punks. you know where that shit was made? lewis countys finest. dont think they r at all innocent. they frame ppl all the time with there own home made batches or they retrieve it from their evidence room. if they want somebody off the streets bad enough they will go to no limit to make sure that would happen. these 4 ppl have lives too. and families that dont deserve to be reading your fowl inputs. if ya have nothing nice or supportive to say keep your mouths shut, because nobody cares what u idiots think.

  15. samamtha sharp says:

U people are a bunch of ignorant bigots who dont hsbe a cli what.you r taoling about Get a life you gossips

  16. Cara says:

Lewis county has obviously is capable of having a Walter white and Jesse and it would not surprise me if they didn’t produce the crap in a mobile lab like they did in the first 3 seasons of Breaking Bad. Lewis county is the perfect place with hillbilly a and Hispanics there are tons of both and full of tweekers!!!!! Looks like Lewis county has a Heisenberg on their hands and prolly not south of the border either. Good job LCSO thanks for keeping our kids safe and another doper or two the 2nd chance at life like I have been given 18 Mos ago 🙂

  17. Law And Order says:

Way to go Lewis County Law Enforcement !!!
Burn these guys enough, they’ll go someplace else.
How many “Walking Dead”, OD’s, and Deaths have occurred around here because of street drugs?
How do addicts get money for their drugs?
Anybody here ever had there stuff stolen, been burglarized, or been robbed by addicts/people needing money for drugs?
Helping those who are unable, cannot, or will not help themselves…
A drug dealer is a low-life … and deserves everything he gets
    He’s a pimp and he sells death…

  18. Long time says:

These brothers having been slinging drugs for years and have nothing positive to offer their community. Lock me up and throw away the key

  19. Josie says:

How convienant that the cops got a tip of that magnitude, and not every one involved got caught…..rat must have been riding along…..

  20. Josie says:

How convienant that the cops got a tip of that magnitude, when not everyone got caught, Smells like a rat was riding…

  21. Shawn Winfrey says:

I wonder how much of each batch hit the streets before the bust. I’m with everyone else, way to go Lewis County. Every little bit of this stuff off the streets is that much closer we are in gaining better odds over drug use and awareness. I am a reformed drug abuser and I quit, on my own, because I was ready to make my life better and looking back I really don’t see what the attraction was but I also didn’t know much about the drug itself. Thank you lcso for helping to make a difference.

  22. TG says:

I don’t know why people are so naive, yes, many drugs do come from south of the border, but, just as many are manufactured and sold by just plain white people.Get some education out there,so maybe people know what to watch for and report!Glad to see that this much is off the streets, but, there are alot, alot, alot more out there!!

  23. rotund76 says:

    Hey A362259,
Loved for who they are? Looks like who they are is big dealers of some really bad drugs to me. Hard to feel sorry for those who have hundrededs of thousands of dollars of meth and heroin to sell to the poor drug addicts.

  24. Jami Rodriguez says:

Nice job officers and detectives! More out of the hands of lewis county. I always love to read big drug busts like this as I know someone is off the streets selling drugs.Great job you should be proud!

  25. MrtnMar says:

    No hope with dope.

  26. A362259 says:

I know i am going to get flack but they are people too. Each addict who uses chooses on their own too and in this county in particular it is everywhere. You cannot pump gas without seeing a used syringe or a bag on the ground. I am not saying its right I am saying these 4 individuals are human beings too. And loved for who they are, not for drugs.

  27. bahlsdeep says:

    Guilty B….

I would like to know one documented case of meth shards that big that was not directly linked to a region not south of the border. No hill billy clan lab would produce that size.

  28. bubba kumar says:

Oh yea looks good……to be off the streets

  29. GuiltyBystander says:

Meth and heroin may be big business in Mexico, but that’s not the only place they’re manufactured and all four of the people arrested are Anglos. Glad to see these guys behind bars and this stuff kept off the street, but I’m not ready to automatically assume these drugs came from south of the border. You may be right, Free Air, but I’m waiting for verification of its place of origin.

  30. Free Air says:

I wonder what south of the border lab produced that batch?

  31. score onw for lewis county says:

YAY!!! Way to go Lewis County. Way to make a dent in that horrible crap. So glad that maybe you just saved some young kid from scoring and possibly death! Great Job.. Thank You and Merry Xmas Lewis County..

  32. Appreciative says:

I’m so glad these drugs didn’t hit the street!!
