Sharyn’s Sirens: Daily police and fire roundup

DISAGREEMENT ON ROADWAY ERUPTS WITH PEPPER SPRAY

• A pair of feuding motorists ended up getting talked to by police  yesterday morning after their rolling argument included a pause to exchange words in Chehalis and one was sprayed with a Mace-like substance. It happened around 9:30 a.m. beginning with some sort of driving incident outside the city and the two males followed each other finally stopping side by side near Boistfort Street and Market Boulevard, according to the Chehalis Police Department. “One brought out his little chemical spray and took a snap at him,” detective Sgt. Gary Wilson said. The sprayee called 911. It was a minimal amount and didn’t get in his eyes or anything, Wilson said. The sprayee subsequently decided he didn’t want to press it, so nobody was arrested, according to Wilson. The other driver was contacted and told it was not acceptable behavior, he said. “Fortunately, there were no firearms involved in this,” he said.

• Centralia police took a report about 9 a.m. yesterday of a black Honda vanishing during the night from the 1000 block of H Street. The car was subsequently located abandoned after an accident in Grays Harbor County by a trooper, according to Centralia Police Department.

PLAYING WITH FIRE

• An officer was called to W.F. West High School about 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday where a 15-year-old Olympia girl had allegedly lit a piece of paper on fire in the restroom. The case is being referred to prosecutors for a possible charge of reckless burning, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

DOGS SHOT BY DEPUTY IN ROCHESTER

The Olympian reports a deputy shot and killed two pit bulls in Rochester yesterday afternoon after reports of a chicken killing and a resident being blocked from leaving her home at Cinnamon Court and then an attack on a dog and its 38-year-old owner on Loganberry Street. News reporter Andy Hobbs writes the two were located on the porch of a house in the 5400 block of 189th Avenue Southwest at about 3:15 p.m. and the deputy fired in self defense when the animals charged.

Ha, ha, he said dear. I keep my land shark around for eating trespassers, haven’t had a single drop of gas stolen since I acquired the ol’e hell hound. So thumbs up for pit bull type dogs here.

  2. Free Air says:

From this chair, I’d say people who will attack a police officer and attacking dogs.
If you’re willing to attack a cop, who won’t you attack?

  3. dont matter says:

dogs especially pitbulls are dangerous. The fact the policeman fired in self defense is debatable. Hes claiming his job put him the position to take a life because of dangers. Thats a lofty Accusation. Animal control would have been a the appropriate entity to call. Not the trigger happy trust fund club. (police) The animals is gonna charge. Its dangerous. Another example of using a sludge hammer to fix a tiny hole in the wall. IM SICK OF THIS SHIT. COPS QUIT SHOOTING or loose your right to carry a firearm. COP SHOOTINGS ARE MORE FREQUENT THAN REAL SHOOTINGS IN LEWIS COUNTY. Who should we be afraid of? You tell me.

  4. BleeBloo says:

If a dangerous dog comes onto your property you have the right to shoot it. If you let your dog roam the neighborhood you’d better be prepared for this. Also, if your roaming dog attacks a person, you will probably lose your house to a civil lawsuit. Is it worth it?

  5. Guilty Bystander says:

Uh oh, Secret, get ready for every pit bull owner out there to come on and tell us all how wonderful they are, how they let their neighbors’ 6-month-old play with them unattended, etcetera, without ever saying why they particularly chose a pit bull as a “pet” (nudge-nudge, wink-wink, say no more).

  6. Secret Squirrel says:

Screw those over bred killing machine pit bull’s!! They should outlaw them bastards, the whole entire breed!! I’m sick of hearing, “it’s all in how they’re raised/treated”!! I call BS on that thinking,, I’ve seen the best, well mannered, best treated pit bull snap and kill!! If I see one on my property endangering my animals, or my family AGAIN,,,, I’LL KILL IT ON SIGHT, as should everyone else!!! And this is coming from an animal lover,, hell, I can’t even shoot a dear!!
