CHEHALIS – The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed this morning the 38-year-old man involved in a fight at a Centralia home on Monday night has died.

He and the 35-year-old resident from the home at the 2700 block of Harrison Avenue were both taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with stab wounds.

No names have yet been released.

The sheriff’s office related on Tuesday morning they learned the 38-year-old and a 33-year-old woman went to the residence shortly before midnight, and a fight ensued between the two men.

Initial information from the resident indicated the dispute was over the woman they both had dated. But she left before law enforcement arrived.

The 38-year-old was said to have stabbed the 35-year-old with an unknown object. The 35-year-old told deputies he grabbed a kitchen knife and used it.

The 35-year-old has been released from the hospital, according to Cmdr. Steve Aust.

Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

I am sorry to hear people passing judgement on a man that is no longer here to defend his self. There are two sides to every coin and I myself loved dale. He was full of love and compassion no he wasn’t a saint and he did have a past however he did not deserve to lose his life nor did his son Tyler deserve to lose his dad and really doesn’t deserve to read all the crap people want to say about his dad. Leave that stuff somewhere else it’s a sad situation that could have been prevented however didn’t. Tyler if you read this I dated UR dad and he talked to me about you. You were his pride and joy. He loved you more then anyone will ever know. Tyler I am very sorry for your loss and if I could I would hug you. Much love and respect for your dad and you kiddo. R.I.P Dale

Dale might have a past but don’t we all. I am one of his ex’s and I am hear to tell you that Dale was a good man. Those who want to past judgement need to look at themselves and quit pointing fingers. A young boy lost his father and to him it doesn’t matter what his dad was or wasn’t just that he’s no longer around. If you do read this Tyler know that your dad loved you with all his heart and soul and spoke of you often. Him and u spent lots of time talking about you. Not a day went by that he didn’t think about you and wanted so much to be with you. Tyler I am sorry for your loss and always know your dad loved you more then life.

This guy was a piece of, “:”,4&, he abused all of his ex girlfriend s, abused drugs, was a thief, I could go on. Surprised it didn’t happen sooner

  5. Republican Logger says:

He wouldn’t be dead if he hadn’t provoked an altercation.

  6. sunshine909 says:

Hey, be careful what you say Logger guy. The son of the guy that died will probably read this. He’s a good kid and loved his dad.

  7. Republican Logger says:

No bother, just speeding up the process and helping eliminate the dregs of the community.

  8. BobbyinLC says:

Yes she left. Didn’t the earlier report say she had a felony warrant? Isn’t that we would all do? Oh wait no…..we do not commit felonies to get warrants issued and get involved in crazy knife fights.

Given the attitude and statements made elsewhere on this site, I am speculating the man and woman went to the residence with the intent of doing harm. In that case the 35 year old probably has a very good self defense argument for the death of the other man.

I further speculate this woman egged on the dead man and is the more immediate cause of his death.
