A 59-year-old man was arrested last night for allegedly striking a neighbor in the face with a small sledge hammer in Centralia.

Police responded just before 10 p.m. to the incident at the 1300 block of Central Boulevard.

Officers concluded the dispute started over music being played loudly by the neighbor. The victim sustained a serious injury, according to the Centralia Police Department.

According to police, the 33-year-old victim was playing what was described as like loud rap music when Morris R Keith came over to his yard.

The victim was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital with a possible broken nose, Sgt. Stacy Denham said.

Keith was booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree assault, according to police.

He is tentatively scheduled to go before a judge this afternoon in Lewis County Superior Court.

I wan’t everyone to know that before you hear rumors! Judge yourselves first. The society we live in now is a one where a white guy who is disabled gets attacked with a sick wife, and someone goes on the news to say he is racist for allegedly hurting another white guy? Is DUMB! This is high school all over again and until the verdict is read don’t judge. If we allow our rights as people to be judged off of hearsay then you no longer live in the greatest country in the world! How many people out there has been in an altercation with someone, and should have been guilty? I think before we listen to people on the news or media we should think for our selfs. It scares me to think before you are found innocent you’re guilty. I think thats why we have a thing in America called the Constitution, and the right of due process. God bless the U.S. and God bless the Constitution!

Why is it the police do nothing about all the chithead clowns disturbing the whole whole town with their idiot boom boxes?

Because there is no noise ordnance in Lewis County.

Mr. Ed to Wilbur ive got your back. Does that mean you will be sitting behind him in the court room as he’s carted off to prison. There was no need for this type of violence. Loud music does not warrant lethal force. Another sad day for our community. Prayers to the victim whom will face a life time of pain for a moment of anger. Im not for calling the cops, but this was a time they were needed if it was after 10 pm. No one wins when violence is used.
