FIRE SWEEPS THROUGH ONALASKA RESIDENCE

• An Onalaska area family lost their home to a fire this morning, as well as its contents and some pets. Firefighters were called to a shed fire on the 600 block of Middle Fork Road just before 8 a.m. and by the time they arrived, the adjacent manufactured home was fully engulfed in flames, Lewis County Fire District 1 Assistant Chief Rhonda Volk said. “It spread quick,” Volk said “Basically just the foundation is left.” The couple who reside there had gotten out without injuries but they had five kittens and only two were found, she said. A young adult niece lives with them as well but wasn’t there at the time, according to Volk. They also lost chicks they were raising in the shed, she said. The Red Cross was asked to come out to help the family, she said. A fire investigator was looking into the cause.

CAT BURGLAR STRIKES AGAIN

• Rooftop break-ins continue in the Twin Cities, with Wendy’s restaurant in Centralia becoming the latest victim. Arriving workers called police at 7:30 a.m. yesterday to the fast food business on the 800 block of Harrison Avenue following the discovery. Someone had cut a hole in a wall to get into a room where they got into a strong box and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Centralia Police Department. They entered the building through a hole cut into the roof, Sgt. Kurt Reichert said. Reichert said he would guess a tool like a sawzall may have been used. On Friday morning someone struck similarly at the Twin City Town Center in Chehalis and two weeks ago someone burglarized the McDonald’s on Lum Road in Centralia the same way.

WRONG GUY

• Centralia police responded to an 8:45 p.m. call yesterday at the 200 block of West Chestnut Street where a 22-year-old Rochester man said he was attacked by another motorist. He said a driver cut him off so he rolled down his window to ask what he wanted, and the other driver pulled open his car door and punched him several times, according to police. He called him by a different name and when the Rochester man got out his license to prove he was not the named person, the suspect grabbed it from him, according to the Centralia Police Department. Nicholas L. Gonzalez, 24 of Chehalis, was subsequently located and booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree robbery, according to Sgt. Kurt Reichert. Gonzalez was in further trouble because he was found in a stolen car, Reichert said.

FRAUD

• A Centralia man called police late Friday afternoon after discovering someone stole some checks from him at the 200 block of West Oakview Avenue and cashed them. The case is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

HANDBAG TAKEN

• Someone stole a purse from the 800 block of Alder Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police  about 7 p.m. on Friday.

CAR PROWL

• Centralia police responded to a call about 4:20 a.m. call today from the 1800 block of North Pearl Street where a wallet was stolen from an unlocked car.

• Police took a report yesterday of several vehicles getting broken into overnight at the 700 block of Bengal Court in Centralia., Among the items missing was a GPS device, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police took a report yesterday morning of a vehicle prowl at the 400 block of West Plum Street. Someone broke a window to get inside, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Police were called to the 2000 block of Borst Avenue in Centralia about 7:50 p.m. on Friday to take a report of the theft of a wallet and medications from a vehicle while its owner was in the restroom.

BIKE BUMPS BUS

• Centralia police were called late Friday afternoon to take a report from Twin Transit that earlier in the day a bicyclist had run into one of its busses at the 900 block of Harrison Avenue.

AND MORE

• And as usual, other incidents such as arrests for warrants, disorderly conduct, teenager with marijuana, driving under the influence; responses for other theft, misdemeanor assault, collisions on city streets … and more.

  1. The Sleeping Giant says:

Just on infowars .com today over 100 illegals that should have been deported were released only to commit murder after there release. The problems are only going to get worse with the open border policy.

  2. Ron Green says:

Just how does one respect our current president (or the last one for that matter)? Fathers penis, hmmmm, sounds catholic to me.

  3. Free Air says:

    Trolls.

  4. The Sleeping Giant says:

Yeah i c the spelling errors but anybody with a brain can work with them. Its not easy sometimes with these little cell phone key boards

  5. The Sleeping Giant says:

‘Continued’ presidents. Bill Clinton sold long range missile navigation to the Chinese. Barry Obama is just another criminal puppet allowing the country to go down with his treasonist crimes against the home land. Racist no. Sick of the clowns in charge yes

  6. The Sleeping Giant says:

Sunshine Girl the Obama Administration has committed at least 13 impeachable offenses to this date. One of them is failure to deport illegals over the age of 30. Also his health care laws have been a joke also. He claimed that you can keep your doctor and the premium would not inflate. The list goes on but most fail to research the facts. Instead people get their news from the Gutter stream dinosaur media whom tell fairy tales. Then you day the bigger the gun the smaller the penis, thats a laugh the whole police force must have little packages then. Your comment works both ways i could say females that pack have an echo. And for statistics hound Home Land Security must be part of the Nazi Regime since they use the word home land in their business title. Its too bad what left of America has cowered down and taken this Government Bs their shoving down our throats. Im going to say what i like about treasonist

  7. Victoria says:

How did this turn into a discussion of someone’s father’s penis or respect for a president?

  8. sunshine girl says:

Wish I had a dollar or even a nickel for every racist asshole who starts his sentence with I’m not a racist but… Also the next time I see some tiny penis with a big stupid gun in Walmart I will know he is probably white and living in his Mama’s basement , but no I will not be comforted by that. I am the 64 year old daughter of a Naval Gunners mate , who put in over 20 years. I had my first gun a 6. We were taught by the best. That a gun is a tool like a good hammer or a screw driver. He was the best man I ever knew and he would laugh at you idiots walkin around with your BIG guns and disrespecting the President of our country. The bigger the gun the smaller the penis I figured out on my own… LOL

  9. Anon says:

For all who are concerned, Nick Gonzales doesn’t speak a lick of Spanish. He’s a product of Centralia, through-and-through. It may be more productive to identify and improve the the negative social forces within our own society, then, than to simply blame everything on “Mexicans.” And by the way, not all brown people are “Mexicans.” There are plenty of immigrants and refugees in Centralia from the other 19 Latin American countries. Are you Russian just because you’re white?

  10. In 1937 Hitler began referring to Germany as “Our Homeland”. He then used that psychology in the same discussions coming from “The Sleeping Giant”. He expanded the concept of “our homeland” to include multiple other countries, all with Caucasian Christian people, all with certin specific characteristics. He then set about eliminating as many people (human beings) as possible that did not fit that description, using guns (which did not work fast enough to suit him or his minions). Verified or not. Most people did not complain, as it did not effect them and “the trains ran on time and things were orderly” for awhile! The horror of this period is something our world will never live down. Many in todays world do not even know about this history. Now a group in the Middle East is engaged in the same actions. As a world, we are ignoring what is going on. The similarity to “Sleeping Giants” statements are strikingly the same.

  11. GuiltyBystander says:

Boy, the fluoride’s sure kicking in on this thread. People are not criminals because of their ethnicity; they’re criminals because of individual choices they make. And it’s not only minorities who abuse the system.

I’ve been to Mexico a number of times and nearly everyone I’ve ever dealt with has been decent and kind…Mazatlan and Seattle have about the same number of people and I felt a lot safer in Mazatlan than I do in Seattle these days.  The two most important things to the vast majority of Mexicans is their family and their faith and we all know what criminality THAT way of thinking engenders.

BTW, Marco Rubio was born in Miami. He’s as “American” as any of us.

  12. citizen dick says:

What about Ted Cruz he was born in Canada and Marco Rubio is Cuban but that’s different I guess because they are good old republicans. That’s why good old Lewis County seems to always lag behind.

  13. Victoria says:

I could add plenty to the conversation about the abuse of our system and charitable entities. I’ve personally witnessed it.

My “correction” was not spell-checking, when the wrong word is used it can, often, change the meaning of the context.

For the record, I, too, wish the legal status of arrested individuals could be indicated.

  14. BleeBloo says:

If I could inject a little humor here, how Hispanic could he be with a gringo first name like Nicholas? SG, if it makes you feel any better, he’s probably at least second generation, far enough removed from the horribly uncivilized criminalistic country to the south which, by the way, is just as racially disparate as the united states. ever see a Japanese person speaking Spanish? I have. anyway, one might conjecture that young Nicholas’s behavior is the end result of good old American environmental factors, which can be found in abundance in rural Thurston and lewis counties. the rooftop burglaries cited in this article could have been born in the desperate living room of a faded house just off Michigan hill road.

  15. The Sleeping Giant says:

Thanks Victoria fix it for me. You did your part in the conversation. Why is someone always acting like the spell check moderator? People understand that spelling errors occur. But did my mis spelled word take away from my point. Geez is that all you have to add is that i misspelled a word?

  16. The Sleeping Giant says:

‘Our’ homeland is for people that are here legally, people that are here illegally do not belong. Just because the Kenyan president Barry Obama has passed another law allowing all that are here by ill begotten ways does not make them American in my eyes. If Barry Barack Obama announced a new law that allowed Blacks to put white babies in would chippers would that be an acceptable law. No of course not. The level of treason that the Obama Administration has gotten away with has damaged ‘Our’ Country beyond repair causing America to spiral into a 3Rd world country. As for other races that goes for me as well among others. I have a Job i pay my bills and contribute to the community in any way i can. So yes ‘our’ describes me also. Its just not the mexican race its white people too. But when your a guest in ‘our’ country you should set a higher standard. Instead these undocumented Mexicans stick out like a sore thumb when they commit crimes.

  17. Victoria says:

FYI – It’s “borders” not boarders.

  18. Patriot says:

Sharyn, do your homework and tell us if Gonzalez is a criminal. It should be easy to look up online. I seem to recall seeing his name on your website before.

  19. adminsharyn says:

who is “our”, when you say our homeland Sleeping Giant? and which “other” races should be setting a better example for their people?

  20. The Sleeping Giant says:

I answered your Question Shayron. Does it get posted or is this a one sided web site that censors speech to fit a certain political agenda. I sure there are lots of comments that are censored that the good people of Lewis County deserve to see.

  21. The Sleeping Giant says:

So Nick. G. Punched this other man but hes not a criminal just yet? Maybe the victim punched himself and hes making it all up. Doubt it. But yeah your right hes not convicted just yet. So i take it back. I will use the word suspected criminal in the future. And for all the Nanny State do rights i will try to use the Obama Word for for illegal aliens, Mexican American. I wouldnt want to offend any one. After all Gay Marriage is now the social norm. Even Bruce Jenner has his place in the Tabloids.

  22. Ron Green says:

How stupid can you be, driving a stolen car and getting into a fight with some other guy driving down the road. This Gonzales guy sounds like a real idiot.

  23. The Sleeping Giant says:

Whats my ethnicity. Its not Mexican. And just saying the word is not racist. Black, negro, white, Yankee,Mexican, Jew, Jewish. Chinese, Japanese these are all words that describe a persons ethnicity. Its just like people that dont like Obama care there assumed to be racist. The nanny state is trying to start a race war. My comments are not racist. There an observation of a certain class of people that have come to our home land and continue to cause chaos in our community’s. Saying the word Mexican is not racist but it sure always seems to escalate the race war. I see the agenda no different than the George Zimmerman case. Just because i use the word Mexican its does not mean we need to use the word with Kid Gloves. So to answer your Question im German American, my grandmother left the Adolf Hitler madness in fear she would be killed for having jewish friends. In no way are my comments racist. But closing the boarders seems to be a racist comment in the Nanny State. People that are of another race should be setting A better example for there people. Its just like the police brutality situation. Cops are hated for a few bad seeds that make them all look bad. Same goes for Mexicans.

  24. XDs says:

    Another fine, upstanding Hispanic.
I would like it if the LCSO would note if they are legal or illegal also.

  25. adminsharyn says:

what’s your ethnicity Sleeping Giant? who is this”our” you’re talking about when you say our community? and remember, as you well know, he has been arrested for something, not convicted of it, so calling him a criminal may be premature …

  26. The Sleeping Giant says:

Nicholes l. Gonzalez another Mexican decedent here in the United States thats in our community making the rest of the good Mexicans in our community look bad. Just another reason to carry a side arm here in the land of the free. If your worried about killing these criminals use rubber bullets or pepper balls. Getting struck with a Tipman tpx pepper launcher at point blank range is about 50 foot pounds of energy. Your attacker will think twice before advancing towards this less lethal weapon, plus it gives them the chance to live another day and maybe clean up their act. Arm your selves Centralia its a war zone out there. Most of the time the gun never has to be fired or leave the holster to stop a criminal. Lets use our God given right to bear arms and protect the innocent from these types of violent attacks. So the next time your in Wal mart and you see someone packing you can feel safe knowing that the gun never has to leave the holster to prevent crime. If everyone had a gun the world would be a more polite place to live. And criminals with guns would think twice before using one to commit an act of violence with a armed person in the vicinity.
