• The state fire marshal advises that sales of consumer fireworks from state-licensed stands begins June 28 at noon and ends on July 5 at 9 pm.  Also reminding the public that  purchasing fireworks over the internet is illegal. As usual, the office suggests that attending a public display is a safe and fun way to enjoy fireworks. To learn about a community fireworks display in your area, visit their website.

• A Chehalis officer was called over to Green Hill School yesterday afternoon after a 16-year-old student-inmate allegedly threw a milk carton of urine at two staff members. The case will be referred to prosecutors for two charges of custodial assault, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
