A male was robbed at gunpoint inside a vehicle by a person with him yesterday evening, leading to a short police pursuit that began in the area of Harrison Avenue and Johnson Road in Centralia, according to the Centralia Police Department.

Officers responding at 6:53 p.m. to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue, just west of Interstate 5, report the suspect took money from the victim.

The suspect is described only as a person known to the victim.

Police located the vehicle, which refused to yield, according to a brief summary of the incident from the department.

The pursuit was terminated by police for public safety
concerns, according to police.

Centralia officers have positively identified the suspect, and recovered the vehicle in Olympia, according to the summary.

Further details were not readily available. The investigation continues, according to police.

This makes no sense. If the identity of an armed robbery suspect is known it only seems it should be released to the public.

“Centralia officers have positively identified the suspect…” Yet no name is given.

“Further details were not readily available”

That sounds very odd. They either know or they don’t.

Yeah its not easy for them. Their adrenalin Junkies. Its almost the same as a crackhead not getting their fix. An interesting story from a Baltimore police officer is on infowars .com today. He divulged police officer corruption that he was seeing in his department. Im glad these bald non camera wearing, jacked up cowboys for once thought about public safety. Its not a good time for another police screw up. Besides this person was known to the so called victim of the crime. When you say took the money Sharyon how much money was it. This is another fishy story with no real details…. lets all clap because the police ended a pursuit.. yeah their our heros… yeah…. Im still wondering were that 50,000 dollars went for that large marijuana bust a few months back.. they now have body cameras at the truck stop for 40 bucks, they could even outfit the dog with that bargin. For once the police were accountable… LMAO

    Sorry about the double post.

Great call on the part of the police. The decision to end the pursuit because it posed a greater risk to the surrounding public. They know who the suspect is and they can get him by warrant later. No innocent people were hurt.

  6. BobbyinLC says:

It is not an easy decision for officers involved in a pursuit to decide to terminate due to the risk to the public. Good call. A warrant can be issued and the suspect arrested later.
