A bomb squad retrieved a pipe bomb in north Centralia yesterday that was found on the side of the road by someone walking in the area.

The explosive device was discovered on Lundberg Road just after 11:30 a.m. and deputies secured the area until specialists with the Washington State Patrol could arrive, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The pipe bomb was detonated – rendered safe – where it was found at about 2:30 p.m., Chief Deputy Stacy Brown said. Then it was disposed of, Brown said.

At least the person who found it did the right thing. There have been stories of people finding these things and carrying them to the police station, one teacher back east found one on her lunch break and brought it back to the school and called 911. DUH!!!

No fixing stupid! Well yeah there is picking up a pipe bomb LOL
