DOMESTIC ASSAULT GLENOMA

• A 50-year-old man was arrested last night after allegedly beating his girlfriend and choking her from behind until she nearly passed out. A deputy met with the victim and the suspect yesterday evening at Belcher Road in Glenoma to follow up on a dispute from the night before, and found she had bruises including on her arms and forehead, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Clifford R. Daniel, of Glenoma, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree assault, according to the sheriff’s office.

COMMOTION AT HARDWARE STORE

• Chehalis police were called just after 10 p.m. yesterday by a female who was concerned her father had left home with a handgun and headed to a Chehalis residence on McFadden Avenue after reportedly getting beat up at a bar. Officers eventually located the 46-year-old man – who may have been drinking – at Ace Hardware on South Market Boulevard, according to the Chehalis Police Department. “Police ordered him to the ground, he didn’t comply, so he was tased,” detective Sgt. Gary WIlson said. The 46-year-old fell backwards and ended up with a big cut on the back of his head, according to Chehalis Fire Department. Because the Taser had been deployed into his back, the fall pushed the barbs farther in, and they need to be removed at the hospital, Fire Capt. Ted McCarty said. Sgt. Wilson said this morning no gun was found, the man was not taken into custody and police are still sorting out what may have occurred earlier regarding an assault.

COMMOTION IN CENTRALIA

• Centralia police arrested a 64-year-old man last night at the 1300 block of Rose Street who was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Officers say Gerald D. Warner fled into his home and barricaded the door, but was eventually taken into custody, with an additional count of resisting arrest for trying to avoid getting arrested.

COMMOTION AT WAL-MART

• Police responded about 7:30 p.m. yesterday to reports of a man with a rifle slung across his back wandering through the parking lot at Wal-Mart and believed to be looking into vehicles. His reported behavior caused great concern, but it turned out to be nothing criminal, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Arriving officers ordered the man to the ground and once they secured his weapon, and got his side of the story they let him go, detective Sgt. Gary Wilson said. He was looking for his own vehicle, which someone else had parked, Wilson said. And he had his muzzle loader with him because he’d brought it to Wal-Mart to see about getting it repaired, he said.

VANDALISM

• Chehalis police were called yesterday morning to the 2500 block of Kresky Avenue where someone had broken into the vacant Elks club building. A window was broken and a lot of vandalism done inside including spray painting, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

THEFT

• Police were called to the 1300 block of Sunset Way in Centralia late yesterday afternoon regarding the theft of documents.

• Centralia police were called just before 1 p.m. yesterday about the theft of mail from the 1900 block of Ahlers Avenue.

AND MORE

• And as usual, other incidents such as arrests for warrants, obstructing, protection order violation; responses for alarm, suicide attempt,  suspicious circumstances, car nearly running another motorist off the road … and more.

Retired and Retarded. Let that be a lesson to ya, when you call the cops expect to get your animals killed and your property damaged. And if you get real lucky you might even get to watch an officer involved shooting of an unarmed person. Just knowing that police have body and dash cameras to protect their citizens now I’ve upgraded 911 to speed dial. I noticed all of those if you see something say something billboards in Pierce County. So I’m watching for Big Brother and helping to promote the Stazi State here in Lewis County Too. I’M happy our local sheriff has become militarized it’s going to make it a lot easier to confiscate all of the guns when the time is right. Also the gun registration laws will help too no one will be able to hide their gun because it’s registered with the state. Im glad our Government is going to protect us Big Government took all the guns in Chicago and that worked out great. Even during hurricane Katrena the National Gaurd went door to door confiscating guns during the riots. The police even killed people that were crossing the bridge trying to leave the riots. Without gun grabbing where would we be now? Our local police that kill unarmed people are hero’s Im support the destroying if the Constitution it’s the right thing to do. After all its just a piece of paper.,

I had a tenant involved in a drunken domestic dispute and ended up with grenades shot through four windows by over 20 officers present. Being on scene during the entire episode, I watched the Centralia police escalate the situation to the point where I feared for my tenant’s life and my own safety. When I offered to unlock the door and difuse the situation, I was ordered off my property under threat of arrest for obstruction. The blast of chemicals did wake him up, and finally bring him out. I was given a form to file a claim but never did fill it out. Can anyone guess why? I love our guys in blue, but I sure wish they’d learn how to communicate with the public in a less confrontational manner. There are courses taught locally!

@Daughter Looks like I was wrong – I apologize. Not enough information and I just profiled you poor dad – they say that’s wrong. In my old age I just operate on habit, prejudice, and pre-judgement – saves my little brain from having to do any original thinking. Must have been some mix-up with the courts – I guess it happens.

I don’t know why the cops would have actively pursued a misdemeanor warrant other than something to do with dog safety. I guess it escalated into a lot more than it should have been. I’m also a Vietnam Vet and a little crazy but I don’t think it’s because of the war.

  4. Not Again says:

Yeah its pathetic that an Animal issue turns into a big ordeal with with more charges filed against a person for locking the door on the police. The police say resisting arrest charges are appropriate for barricading your door. Then the daughter says the cops then threatened too shoot the house. Hopefully the officers body camera and dash camera can provide some insight to what happened. This seems like an extreme situation brought on by a police officer over a simple ticket for a dog bite. I hope the body cameras clear up what really happened over there. It would be sad to see this old guy go too jail over a dumb issue like this.

  5. daughter says:

@crazyoldman Just so you people know the warrant was for missing court over a dog bit ticket my dad has never missed court he has never even had court for anything before he had court on the 25 for a dog bit ticket. @crazyoldman how dare you say my dads a loser you have no fucking clue who he is he fought for you to have your rights and be able to have you freedom you fucking bastard. My dad has never been in trouble with the law so you can take you whole statement and shove it in you ass

  6. CrazyOldMan says:

@daughter Here is a good lesson that you should deal with a felony warrant. The cops showed up and treated him badly – boohoo. Losers ignorer there problems until they get worse and worse. Your dad is a loser. And at 62 years old there is not much hope of him changing his ways and becoming a winner. We can always hope and maybe he will have an epiphany.

  7. Not Again says:

Just wondering what was the warrant for on the dad that locked the door on the cops?

  8. BustyBabe says:

@daughter—You say” the cop acted like your dad was the worst of the worst, ” in reference to the cops treatment of ur dad.? That officer didn’t know if your dad had a gun, bomb, or any other type weapon on him and so, the cop acted accordingly, cause toomany cops let down their guard when dealing with criminals and end up getting killed, Your dad brought this on himself by getting a warrant placed on him in the first place.. Noone told him not to go court, it was his choice.i see u love your dad alot, but you need to let him take care of himself and u take care of urself, be the daughter

  9. outlander says:

@ daughter- I was referring to the “Commotion at Hardware Store” story, not the “Commotion in Centralia” story and I think others were also. I hope your family can work things out.

  10. daughter says:

1,I never said he had a gun never told the cops that he had a gun 2 never said that he didn’t have to deal with his leagel problems. He is not one of these druggies or major criminals that they needed to treat my dad the way the did it was really messed up. My dad has been the one to take all of us to court so we didn’t miss it it was an honest mistake and the cop acted like my dad was the worst of the worst. My dad now is having problems with anxiety and breaking down out of nowhere this officer broke my dad and now we don’t know how to fix this

  11. Not Again says:

Yes it seems like a revolt against the police is beginning. From what I know there bringing it upon themselves. There was a murder inside of the police station, the guy was choked to death so the corner took out his voice box to hide the criminal evidence. Only during the second autopsy that the family paid for, that this was confirmed. This of course happened in Texas. So it seems to me, public officials are involved in hiding the crimes of the police as well. I just moved here a few months ago and im starting to realize something might be wrong with the police system here. But im sure the dash camera and body cameras will show why the taser was used to shoot the man in the back

  12. just a bunch of lil chickens says:

Well ya, sue them . But the problem will still be there. This isn’t the first and won’t be the last , i watched them arrest a young man a few years back , this kid ( mid 20s ) was giving up after swimming back and forth in the river . He was walking out of the water ,he was told to stop , his hands were up ,ankle deep and boom. Zapped the shit out of him.lewis county police are the new Nazi party. Pick and choose what laws they uphold..every Mexican is illegal. Start there. As a gov employee if i was as bad at my job , i would be let go !!!

  13. outlander says:

Sounds like his daughter told the cops he had a gun on him, wasted and was on his way to settle a score after getting his ass beat. It’s a good thing that he was only tazed.

  14. Not Again says:

Man tasered in back. OMG no charges filed and hurt like that. I wasnt there but with police these days anything could happen a cop just shot up his police cruiser and lit it on fire. Im wondering if this was recorded on a body camera or something. Seems like a law suit to me. Even if he didnt comply how was he a threat to an officer if hi back was turned? Any Ideas

  15. CrazyOldMan says:

I don’t understand a 64 year old man not dealing with his legal problems and having outstanding warrants. I’m a Vietnam Vet and I do know that some people genuinely are affected by PTSD but a lot of veterans who are nuts or criminals blame their behavior on PTSD.

It sounds like you are in a lot of denial about your father’s mental illness and criminal behavior.

  16. daughter says:

Just so you know he didn’t Barricade the door he went in to the house to calm himself he could feel that his PTSD was get the best of him he just wanted to calm down and the officer needed to calm down to but in stead of calming down he called for back up and made Threats to shoot the house dad just wanted to calm down my nephew was also inside the house when this all happened and they made it out like my dad was holding him hostage which he was not he was asleep in his bed
