One Response to “Sirens: Daily police and fire roundup”

  1. GoodGrief says:

“… guy and his mother, who are on a waiting list for a shelter, trying to stay warm, according to the fire department.”

Remind me again how everyone living on the street has it so good and has so many options and “goodies” and how resentful we are to give them even those things. The cost of our individualistic society who worries more about getting their own rather than helping each other is far too high.

Anyone who is making it by “pulling themselves up by their bootstraps” and “working extra hard” tell me if they ever had to live in the open, in the winter trying to stay warm with a fire along the freeway? There are many, many reasons folks are homeless, MOST of which have nothing to do with willingness, but far more to do with ability, luck, timing and privilege – or lack of. I hope they found a warm place to stay last night, it was very cold.
