Sentencing delay looms again in Vader toddler death case

CHEHALIS – Prosecutors have asked a judge to postpone the sentencing for Brenda A. Wing, who pleaded guilty last year to first-degree manslaughter for her role in the death of a 3-year-old boy.

Wing and her husband both entered into plea agreements that required them to undergo polygraph tests.

It appears from court documents filed by Lewis County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer that a polygraph examination was given to Wing on Dec. 11, but while Meyer has received the report from her lawyer, he also wants a recording and charts from the polygrapher which he hadn’t yet received.

Meyer stated he needs them to prepare for the sentencing hearing, which is currently on the court calendar for Jan. 22.

Jasper Henderling-Warner died on Oct. 5, 2014 from what the coroner called chronic battered child syndrome. The couple was taking care of him and moved from Clark County to Vader not long before his death.

Meyer also asked the judge in his motions, filed Dec. 31, to set a deadline for defense attorney John Crowley to turn over the materials. He’s requesting the judge hold Crowley in contempt and pay monetary penalties if he misses the deadline.

The motion also makes mention of the need for an additional polygraph, given the “issue” with the one administered.

Meyer sought and secured a hearing on the matters, before Lewis County Superior Court Judge Nelson Hunt tomorrow at 2 p.m.

Crowley today in a brief phone call indicated he has a court hearing in another county at that time.

Brenda Wing, 27, and Danny Wing, 26, were arrested Nov. 7, 2014 by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Jasper’s autopsy showed abrasions, bruises, facial trauma, healing fractures and listed skin infections, MRSA, as secondary to his cause of death.

Danny A. Wing was sent to prison in September for 34 years and eight months.

Amazed , I agree she deserves the same sentence as her asshole husband , she is worse as she stood by and let this happen. As for the childs parents they should be right in there with the Wings too. As the cops used to say before it became politically incorrect , except for the child there are NHI in this case , No humans involved.

    Casey Henderling, Nikki Warner…….
    Any accountability yet…..???

Crazy old man: you have such nightmares because you are caring person. I doubt these Wings even have a conscious. If they did they would be screaming to be sentenced and pay for their heinous crime.

Let the prosecutor do his job. All he is doing is tying up loose ends. You all know that down the road the Washington court of appeals will end up saying the sentence is too long, they lied, they were forced to make a plea deal. Their in jail, they are not going anywhere. He is dealing with defense lawyer tactics. The state needs to get their ducks in a row so they are prepared for sentencing so the judge won’t have any choice but to hammer these pukes!

Wow, this case really shows the egregious lack of competence of Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney Johnathan Meyer. The ball has been fumbled way too much in this case. This poor child is really getting robbed of his justice. We really need to consider re electing a new Prosecutor in 2018. This is getting very ridiculous.

It is junk science, and not even very good junk science.

Very sad case about this poor little boy who wasn’t cared for.

I’ve had two dogs die in the last 4 years. One was my 17+ year old Jenny who was the greatest little Terrier mix. And the other was Buddy, a neglected Maltese who someone dropped off in the middle of December near my house. He was my head of security for 4 years but died too young of heart failure at around 13yo.

Point is that I have nightmares that I have left these dogs somewhere and I am searching all night for them and can’t find them. Sometimes they are locked in an apartment without food or water and I can’t remember the correct one of find the key. Sometimes someone has said they are in the street somewhere in a big city but I search and search and can’t find them.

I just can’t imagine the lifelong nightmares if you have left your little sweet boy somewhere and you search and search every night and can’t find him.

I know that Jenny and Buddy are buried in the back yard and sometimes I go out and visit them but still have the dreams. I now have 3 terrific dogs, all rescues and all fairly young, and I am just hoping to live as long as they do.

What’s the point of requesting the Polygraph record and charts? Then requesting yet another polygraph b due to an “issue” with this one? There’s a reason polygraphs aren’t allowed in court. They are not accurate. I’m sure her plea deal isn’t tied to the results of the polygraph. Meyer is just eating time & a lot of tax payer money on this garbage-send her to prison and let them deal with her. He’s lucky he even got a polygraph after his blundering plea deal ” Washington state certified polygraph administer”. Sentence her already!
