A 22-year-old driver was injured when she lost control of her car and wrecked into a guard rail along U.S. Highway 12 just west of Mayfield Lake last night.

Troopers responding about 11:15 p.m. found Layla R. Horton was traveling eastbound near Filbert Road when her vehicle left the roadway to the right, she overcorrected and then crossed to to opposite side of the highway, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The Mossyrock resident was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital, according to the state patrol. She had not been wearing a seat belt.

Her 2010 Hyundai Accent was described as totaled.

Troopers suspect alcohol or drugs to be involved, according to the state patrol. The collision is blamed on driving too fast.

Horton was to be cited for first-degree negligent driving, according to the investigating trooper.

  2. Anonymous says:

I saw the crash site I know the area and I am damn well sure it was not a half to three quarter mile away from the water not even a fucking 1/4 of a mile! And the guard rail she it was not in front of a house! None of this is anyone’s buisness it happened and it’s in the passed there no fucking reason why anyone should be going on here and writing ignorant hear say opinion shit! Especially when you have not even a single ducking fact about what happened! They post this to let the public know what’s going on not for ignorant fucks to talk shit! Just grow the fuck up and mind your own damn buisness! Thank you…

  3. Observer says:

Directly across the street from the ladies house. Into the guardrail. How is that not near the responders house? The one that said she was very drunk.

  4. Observer says:

And the wreck was well before the bridge close to a 1/2- 3/4 mile before the ” water “

  5. ROC says:

@Observer…I’m not sure what lady to whom you are referring, because there is not a house anywhere close to where the crash occurred. Pretty hard to build a house over open water, near a bridge. I believe there was someone who stopped and made a comment about Layla being “really drunk”. She hit her head extremely hard on the windshield and what this person saw was probably the effects of a concussion and head trauma. I would assume that the toxicology screen that was run would be a tad more conclusive than a casual observer who stopped at the scene. It’s amazing how much you ignorant people think you know.

  6. Observer says:

Well the ladys house she wrecked in front of which is the lady that found her said she was extremley drunk.

  7. Tired of the dumb fucks says:

To Smh: Get your facts straight, she wasn’t at the bar in Mossyrock, you ignorant fuck. Also, she is a Horton who is with Ryan Stanley. She has no relation whatsoever so the Spahns. Get a fucking hobby and do something with your life instead of this.

  8. ROC says:

Key words here are “suspect alcohol or drugs were involved”. She was not drunk and had not been drinking at the Pioneer. Did you notice the article said she was headed eastbound, near Mayfield lake bridge? Perhaps you people should wait for all the FACTS to come out, before making assumptions and passing judgement. I’m glad she’s going to be ok.

Thoughts and prayers to the driver and her family

  10. #DONTABANDONKIDS says:

On your driving record & to the courts a charge of Negligent Driving 1* carries the same penalty as a DUI, interlock included.
It also counts as a prior DUI if you should get another one.

  11. Smh says:

It’s all on who you are and who you know. Her family owns the Pioneer where she had been drinking, she’s filter of the Stanley and the Spahns…….

  12. To Be Orr Not To Be says:

Ok, so let me get this straight….

Totaled her car and drugs or alcohol are suspected to have caused her to crash and they’re not charging her with DUI?!?!?!

What kind of white-privilege B.S. is THAT!!?!?!?!

Fine, slap her on the wrist with a lesser charge of negligent driving and no doubt she won’t learn her lesson and by the time she kills a pedestrian or passenger it will be too late.

  13. John_long says:

Not Surprised. Her family own the only bar in the town. Hopefully she is fine.
