CHEHALIS – A deputy was called to Toledo High School yesterday morning to follow up on a clue a student may be in possession of marijuana.
The evidence: A staff member showed the deputy a Facebook post allegedly made by the juvenile featuring a photo of four large buds and indicating he was trying to sell them, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy spoke to the 16-year-old boy, who pulled items out of his backpack and handed them over, according to the sheriff’s office.
A ziplock baggie containing 36.5 grams of the vegetable matter and another container with just shy of 14 grams were confiscated, the sheriff’s office reported this morning.
The teenager was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, Chief Deputy Stacy Brown said.

This kid got an A plus for a start up business. Marijuana is not harmful for you dosent kill you. Yet millions are being charged for a crime for possession of a plant. Would he be charged with a crime if he was selling apples? Apples can be made into alcohol and alcohol can kill. Yet marijuana had killed no one. If anything he should be awarded for fighting against the Mexican Drug Cartels. What would you prefer Mexican weed or Local home grown? Legalize Drugs now and stop the illegal drug war.
Is this really productive? What a tragedy it will be if this young man ends up with a criminal record over this. The voters overwhelmingly have voted for legalization over and over yet there are members of local law enforcement Centralias Chief of Police(no not you Haggerty) who have announced publicly that they will find ways to continue arresting people for various marijuana offenses. Apparently his opinion trumps the voters. What a disgrace the Centralia Police Department has become.
Another “budding” Lewis Country entrepreneur shut down. Every business person knows that product needs marketing. Facebook is the perfect place except for the fricken snitches at his child penitentiary (School?). The guldern state sells this stuff but they don’t want an entrepreneurial kid cutting into their turf.
Let the poor kid go. Make him a consultant. He might save Lewis County from being one of the poorest counties in the state.
