CHEHALIS – Nobody was injured but the inhabitants of a small two-story home in Grand Mound were at least temporarily displaced by a house fire last night.

Fire investigators are on the scene this morning at the 5900 block of Southwest Ivan Way, according to West Thurston Regional Fire Authority.

Crews called just after 7:30 p.m. yesterday saw flames on the cedar shake roof, believed to have ignited by embers from the chimney, Chief Robert Scott said.

The occupants evacuated and the blaze was contained to the second story, according to Scott.
