CITIZEN TRACKS STOLEN PROPERTY

• Centralia police were called about 1:45 p.m. yesterday by a shopper who realized she’d left her purse behind in a cart at the 500 block of South Tower Avenue. She used a friend’s phone to track her phone, gave the location to an officer who contacted a woman connected with a vehicle, in a driveway, containing the purse, according to the Centralia Police Department. Tanya N. Harris, 37, of Centralia, was arrested for second-degree theft and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police. Prosecutors declined to file the felony charge today.

TOOLS TAKEN CENTRALIA

• A garage on the 600 block of Yew Street in Centralia was burglarized, according to  report made to police about 1:10 p.m. yesterday. Stolen was a tool box and tools, according to the Centralia Police Department.

AUTO THEFT

• Chehalis police were called to a car theft yesterday at about 1:15 p.m. from a parking lot on Northwest Louisiana Avenue in Chehalis. Further details were not readily available.

CAR PROWL

• Police were called about 3:50 p.m. yesterday about a vehicle prowl at the 500 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. A window was broken out and a purse as well as other personal items were taken, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called to the 200 block of West Summa Street about 7:40 a.m. yesterday regarding a vehicle prowl. Missing were sunglasses, small personal items, cash and gift cards, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUGS

• Officers called just after 1 p.m. yesterday about people inside someone else’s carport at the 500 block of Woodland Avenue in Centralia contacted a pair of individuals walking and ended up arresting them both. Police were shown a picture taken by a witness and recognized their subject, according to the Centralia Police Department. Both had outstanding warrants and police allegedly located more than the allowable amount of marijuana in a paper bag which Alejandro S. Escamilla was carrying, as well as suspected meth, according to police. Escamilla, 43, of Centralia, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of more than 40 grams of marijuana, according to police.

• Centralia police were called to the 1000 block of North Pearl Street just after 1 p.m. yesterday regarding the theft of political signs. The victim twice before yesterday has found her Donald Trump signs missing, according to the Centralia Police Department.
