PARKING LOT RAGE AND HEAD BUTTING

• A 35-year-old driver confronted by an individual about going too fast through a Centralia parking lot ended up getting arrested last night after he allegedly grabbed a 34-year-old woman and head-butted her. Police called about 8:40 p.m. to the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue were told an argument ensued, that David G. Laroe shoved the 16-year-old boy and when the mother intervened, assaulted her, according to the Centralia Police Department. Laroe, of Centralia, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, according to police.

MISSING JEWELRY

• Centralia police were called about 3:30 p.m. yesterday to a business at the 300 block of North Tower Avenue about the theft of jewelry. The case is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

VEHICLE PROWL

• An officer was called for a car prowl at the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia at about 5:20 p.m. yesterday. Police were told that sometime during the day unknown person or persons broke out the window to their car and stole a Body Glove backpack containing a climbing rope, according to the Centralia Police Department.

BRUSH FIRE CHEHALIS

• Firefighters called about 7 p.m. yesterday for a brush fire off of Yates Road outside Chehalis found a slash pile burning in a field. It appeared the mixture of logs and branches had been intentionally burned previously and reignited, according to Lewis County Fire District 6.
