FIREWORKS IGNITE RESIDENCE

• An alert neighbor spotted flames on the roof of a home on Southwest 15th Street near William Avenue in Chehalis about 8:30 p.m. yesterday and got out a garden hose. There were quite a few people in the area lighting off fireworks with their families, according to the Chehalis Fire Department. When the crew arrived, it was still smoking so they put more water on it and found an approximately 24-inch circle burned in the cedar shake roof, Firefighter Kevin Reynolds said. The crew had to wait a couple of hours for a technician from PUD to shut off the power, so they could access the roof and peel back the roofing, Reynolds said. They had to cut out a charred hole in the sheeting the size of a coffee cup, he said.

  1. Peabody Slim says:

The Rebel Flag has been banned, so why not fireworks? Thats right Fireworks generate huge Tax Pay Offs for the State. It’s all about money not safety. It’s easy to see through the States Lies. Marijuana illegal now legal why, Tax Money. All those years watching those this is you’re brain on drugs commercials. Now the State is selling Marijuana and claiming that the tax money goes to help schools. They said that the lottery was to help schools also, yet property taxes incresse every year because schools need more money. The lies are Crystal clear here. Our Government needs a citizen strangle hold and everyone needs to stop paying these criminals our hard earned money. Maybe the answer is adding a 3rd bathroom at city hall and painting our sidewalks like rainbows, that will fix the problems.
