INTRUDER CAPTURED ON CAMERA

• A state Department of Corrections officer in the area to check on a client happened on a burglary yesterday morning outside Chehalis at the 100 block of Forest-Napavine Road East. Deputies responding about 10:30 a.m. learned the front door had been forced open and a window broken, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The DOC officer saw a slender white male  with tattoos on both arms leaving the area with another male in an older Honda or Toyota passenger car, according to the sheriff’s office. It appeared some of the resident’s belongings had been piled up by the front door, Chief Deputy Stacy Brown said this morning. The victim provided video that showed the intruder, according to Brown.

THEFT INVESTIGATION

• Chehalis police were called just before 10 a.m. yesterday about a theft at the 500 block of Northwest Quincy Place. The case is under investigation, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Centralia police were called about 1:15 p.m. yesterday about a theft of jewelry from the 900 block of South Scheuber Road. The case is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Two televisions were reported stolen yesterday from a home on the 1600 block of Sunset Way in Centralia. One of the residents is a suspect, according to the Centralia Police Department.

MAIL PROWL

• An officer was called about 2:20 p.m. yesterday to the 1100 block of Kresky Avenue in Centralia where a check was reported stolen after it an empty envelope was located by a postman near a mailbox.

CAR PROWL

• Centralia police were called about 4:30 p.m. yesterday to the 900 block of Harrison Avenue about a sports bag containing equipment stolen from a vehicle in a business parking lot.

OUTDOOR LIVING

• Chehalis police contacted several individuals about 3:30 p.m. yesterday on railroad property near the 600 block of West Main Street, at least some of whom were believed to be camping there. Kendra C. Comfort, 29, from Chehalis, reportedly became hostile and said she would not leave, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Because Comfort had previously been cited for trespassing there, she was arrested for second-degree trespassing and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.
