CHEHALIS – Centralia police today said they believe the life-threatening lacerations a woman suffered at the apartment complex in Centralia on Sunday were self-inflicted.

The 44-year-old Centralia woman was found in the bathroom of a common area of the complex with cuts to her wrists and throat, according to the Centralia Police Department. A box cutter was located there.

Detective John Panco in a news release this afternoon said investigators feel confident that she was not assaulted, based on the evidence they have.

However, detectives have not yet been able to interview her. When they went to visit her at Tacoma General Hospital in the intensive care unit, she was on a ventilator and could not speak, according to Panco.

Police will continue to investigate and if anyone has any information about the matter, they are asked to call the police department.

It’s the same apartments on the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road which saw two suspicious fires last week. Panco said they don’t know if Sunday’s incident is related.

I’m not one to gloat, I was just speculating when I made that comment. I feel sorry for her, she obviously needs help.

No matter what the details are, this is tragic. I had talked to Kathy several times in the last month and she was so nice. Obviously, there is a lot more to this story but I have to wonder if it is really necessary for the public to be in this gossip fueled tragedy

I urge the authorities to investigate this case with an open mind, until their leads come to an end, and not make any unnecessary assumptions until they have proof to support their claims.

Ridiculous! Perhaps the investigation should be forwarded to WSP and LC’s finest under investigation as suspects? Since they are so quick to say attempted suicide?! You just cannot go determining someone was suicidal without interviewing the only witness (the victim!) I know of at least 1 person who lived in those appartments within the last year who has a history of violent abuse on women and anger problems. As she had a reputation of offering people second chances to have a home… it is so very reasonable to think at some point her generosity had backfired. I urge detectives to consider all plausible options.

It seems this woman is very troubled and I hope she gets the help she needs. As long as she did not tell police she was attacked then no crime has been committed. I hope she recovers soon and is able to move on with her life in a positive way.

I was one of the first in to Kathy, my OPINION ONLY… Blindness and lack of proper investigation is was caused this in correct gossip story that was published about our homes, our community. 4 attempted arsons, and as someone trained to medically observe and report in proper format, I haven’t even been contacted for My statement. So how in God’s name can you all do this to us and not even pretend to act like we can feel safe??????????????????????????????????????

Blee Bloo did ask in the original post if this was self-inflicted.
