THREAT ABOUT GUN AT SOLID WASTE CENTER LANDS CUSTOMER IN JAIL
• A 37-year-old man from Portland was jailed yesterday after an altercation with an employee and another customer at the Lewis County Transfer Station in which he allegedly threatened to kill them with a gun because they were white, because they were “killing his people,” according to the Centralia Police Department. Officers called to the trash collection center on the 1400 block of South Tower Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. yesterday learned Andrew T. Seaman was told by the employee to back his vehicle off the scale at the entrance because another customer was still parked on it, according to the Centralia Police Department. Other employees responded and the first worker was quite frightened and clearly upset by the man’s words, according to police. Seaman was arrested for malicious harassment, Sgt. Dave Clary said.
DOMESTIC ATTACK
• Centralia police were called about 9:50 p.m. Thursday for a woman who said her grown niece assaulted her, breaking her nose at the 2500 block of Howard Avenue. The case is being investigate as a second-degree assault, according to the Centralia Police Department.
BURGLARY
• Police were called just before 2 p.m. Thursday for a break-in to a residence at the 400 block of South Cedar Street. Three Samsung televisions were stolen, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Centralia police were called to the 300 block of Linda Lane in Centralia about 10:15 a.m. Thursday to take a report of an attempted burglary. Someone attempted entry through a door panel, but the suspects were frightened off by the victim’s dog barking, according to the Centralia Police Department.
CAR PROWL
• Centralia police were called to the 3200 block of Galvin Road abut 8:35 a.m. Thursday for a vehicle prowl. A window was broken, according to the Centralia Police Department.
DRUGS
• A 50-year-old Centralia man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine when he was picked up on a warrant yesterday around 2 p.m. yesterday at Summa Street and Tower Avenue. Patrick N. Martin was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• A 17-year-old was arrested for possession of marijuana when contacted in a traffic stop at Washington Avenue and Fourth Streets in Centralia just before 11 p.m. on Thursday. The teenage boy was released to a parent and the case will be forwarded to juvenile prosecutors for charging, according to the Centralia Police Department.
VANDALISM
• Centralia police were called just before 5 p.m. yesterday to the 1900 block of Ahlers Avenue where someone had shot out the rear window of a vehicle with a BB gun.
• Centralia police were called about 7:20 a.m. yesterday to the 500 block of Harrison Avenue where a rock had been thrown through the window of a business.
RESIDENTIAL FIRE HELD TO KITCHEN
• A pan of cooking oil that overheated at a Centralia home yesterday ignited and burned a wall and cabinets but was knocked down before firefighters arrived. The crew called about 4 p.m. to the mobile home on the 100 block of Francis Lane confirmed the fire was extinguished and the occupant was uninjured, according to Riverside Fire Authority.
