CHEHALIS – Centralia police are investigating after a motorist said she was pulled over and then groped by a man they say is a police impersonator.

He was wearing a police-type uniform and driving an older white Ford Crown Victoria with a single red light on its roof, according to the Centralia Police Department.

He had the 33-year-old Centralia woman exit her vehicle and take sobriety tests, during which he groped her, according to police.

It happened at the 400 block of South Gold Street last night The victim broke away, locked herself in the car and drove home to call police just before 8 p.m., according to the report.

Detectives this morning are investigating this case and following all available leads.

Centralia police say, for now, if you are not certain it’s really an officer trying to pull you over, put on your emergency flashers, slow down, don’t stop and go to a well-lit area. Call 911 to confirm that the person stopping you is indeed law enforcement.

The only description detectives have right now of the suspect is a white male, ages 20 to 30 with short hair, detective Patty Finch said.

“I wanted to put it out so people are advised of what we have, but there’s still a lot more that needs to be done,” Finch said this morning.

Most law enforcement vehicles are clearly marked with “Police”, “Sheriff” or “WSP” markings, with the exception of detective vehicles, according to Finch.

Peabody Slim… starting to sound a bit conspiracy theorist there. Hold your horses, buddy. Real LEOs are not the enemy.

This low life though? He best not pull me over! I will call 911 to verify and when I verify he’s not a legitimate police officer? It won’t be pretty. This pistol-packin’ mama is prepared! These are the lowest of the low. I hope the REAL PD/LCSO capture him long before he is successful in his endeavors.

Seems a rather convoluted ruse just to cop a feel.

Doesn’t Bo drive a white crown vic?

This is scary because of how brazen the person is. I do not know of any law enforcement vehicles that are white crown vics with a red light on top. This means that the scumbag risked being spotted by real law enforcement as being a phony right away.

Then to stay on the scene long enough to perform fake sobriety tests so he could grope a woman? This guy is on the path to doing some real damage to another victim(s).

Just another reason police cars should be all mandated to be the same type and Color. Instead they get in needed tinted windows and sports car type vehicle. Furthermore this could of been a real officer. Check out Photography is not a crime .com and enjoy the laundry list of police crimes that are being done by police on a daily basis. No Dash cameras no body cameras No public Trust anymore. If it keeps up more court cases will be settled in the streets

This is exactly the reason me, Brian Green, and many other citizens of Liberty Watch spoke out against the unmarked car ordinance passed by the Lewis County Commissioners. Anyone can buy a set of lights and clip them to a car and impersonate a cop. Smooth move Lewis County!
