His parents had confronted him about his marijuana use, according to police.

MOSSYROCK RESIDENT LOSES FIREARMS, TVS AND PET DOG IN BURGLARY

• It appears a burglar at a Mossyrock home left a door open, allowing the owner’s dog to get out and get into a neighbor’s chicken coop where it was shot and killed, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were called about 4:40 p.m. on Monday to the 100 block of Swigert Road by a 74-year-old man who reported the situation regarding his poultry and his neighbor’s dog. The man said that recently nine of his chickens were killed when a neighbor dog got into the coop and when he was alerted by his wife of a dog in the chicken house, he and a buddy found the canine who seemed to be going after the chickens, according to the sheriff’s office. The 72-year-old friend shot the dog, according to Chief Deputy Dusty Breen. Meanwhile, the property owner’s wife had gone to the dog owner’s home and saw a door was open, but nobody was there, according to Breen. It turns out that sometime after 10 p.m. on Sunday, someone broke into the residence and stole five guns and two television sets, and let the dog out, according to Breen. The 20-year-old resident who owns the dog was out of town and had a friend stopping by to check on the house and take care of their dog, according to the sheriff’s office.

ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• Centralia police issued a motorist an infraction for negligent driving after a vehicle slid off the road and into China Creek yesterday evening near North Gold Street and Ham Hill Road. The three occupants were assisted from the vehicle with the help of firefighters and only minor injuries were involved, according to authorities.

One Response to “Sirens: Daily police and fire roundup”

  1. Oly Boy says:

“A 14-year-old boy who allegedly hit his father….”

    Translation
Just a guess on my part, but for the first time ever, the parents tried to hold him accountable, and or punish him. That never works when they are teenagers. The day to start teaching right from wrong is about the 6 month age, not 14 years old.

Hope Dad will be ok and the kid can get treatment for his drug use.
