DOWNTOWN CENTRALIA BURGLARY

• Someone broke out a business’s window and stole thousands of dollars worth of high-end power tools, according to a report made just after 7 a.m. yesterday from the 300 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia.

FRAUD

• Chehalis police were called yesterday evening by a person who lives out of town but discovered someone had used their bank card information at Wal-Mart.

CAR PROWL

• Chehalis police were called about 8:30 a.m. yesterday for a vehicle prowl that took place during the night at the 200 block of Southeast Prospect Street. A wallet had been taken, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

VANDALISM

• A deputy responded just after 7 p.m. yesterday to Mineral for a report of damage to a $65,000 assembly that powered a community gate belonging to a homeowner’s association. It happened at the 100 block of Rainier Vista Drive off North Mineral Hill Road, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Damaged was a gate, power box and motor sometime between 3:26 p.m. and 4 p.m., Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said. Deputies were provided information on a potential person of interest and are investigating the case as a hit and run and first-degree malicious mischief, Breen said.

DRUGS

• When Centralia police arrested a 16-year-old boy for an outstanding warrant about 11:45 p.m. yesterday, they discovered he was in possession of heroin, according to the Centralia Police Department. The contact occurred at the 1200 block of Mellen Street, according to police. The teen was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center.
