Three individuals were arrested for manufacture and possession of marijuana, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Breen said an investigation continuing after a a previous discovery of an illegal marijuana growing operation in Vader led investigators to the Nelson Road location.

Booked into the Lewis County Jail yesterday were Nga Dong, 65, and Le Hai Son, 39, both of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Chanh Nguyen, 34, of San Jose, California.

The three are tentatively scheduled to go before a judge this afternoon in Lewis County Superior Court.

It amazes me how many people continually condone marijuana use like it is something good. Have they not noticed how lazy our society is already? Why add to the laziness and lack of motivation? It is hard enough to get good help in employment let alone when everybody is stoned out.

You’re kidding me, right?? these are ILLEGAL grows!! it’s amazing to me all the folks that are “pot is legal, what’d the big deal??” Yes, it’s legal, WHEN you grow or possess under the laws! these grows are initiated by people from out of our country, tended by indentured ‘servants’, and NOT LEGAL! NONE of the plants that were being grown were going to be used in this area, they were going to be used for sale in area where it’s still illegal to use or grow – most likely the East coast, or even out of the country –

No one is going to “reimburse” the growers for their loss. Illegal grows are not legitimate businesses. The voters set up a system of state regulated marijuana production and distribution. Growing pot for the black market is not part of the system. Also consider that production of marijuana is still illegal under federal law. In this case, the bust was an illegal operation run by organized crime. So, it is not a waste of time. It is enforcing the laws the voters enacted.

What a waste of time. The growers should be reimbursed for their loss. Marijuana use and production are supported by the voters in this state. It’s about headlines and press for jnet will of the people be damned. Maybe the local press should quit publishing these “busts” and funding for these guys would hopefully dry up.
