TEEN INMATE FLEES HOSPITAL

• A 17-year-old student-inmate from Green Hill School transported to Providence Centralia Hospital at the 900 block of South Scheuber Road fled on foot from staff after arriving, according to a call made to police at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Law enforcement officers from Centralia along with units from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, Chehalis, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Washington State Patrol assisted in the search for the escapee, according to the Centralia Police Department. While the Centralia police dog was searching the area, a trooper on containment located the teenager and took him into custody, according to police. The escapee was transported back to Green Hill School and a case will be referred to prosecutors for a charge of escape, according to police.

ASSAULT

• Centralia police were called about 8:40 p.m. on Monday to the 1900 block of Honeysuckle Lane where an individual reported an ex-roommate entered the residence and assaulted the victim, and then fled. The incident is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

BURGLARY AND THEFT

• A business on the 1000 block of Eckerson Road in Centralia reported the theft of power tools from its maintenance room at about 10 p.m. on Monday. The case is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called to the 500 block of Harrison Avenue about 10:40 a.m. on Monday to take a report from a business in which someone attempted to break in during the early morning hours by trying to pry the back door open.

• Chehalis police were called to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue to take a report of a second-degree theft at about 9 p.m. on Saturday.

• Chehalis police were called to the 1900 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue to take a report of a vehicle theft at about 9:40 a.m. on Friday.

REPORT OF SHOOTERS ATOP TAVERN UNFOUNDED

• Officers responding to an 11:15 p.m. call on Saturday from an individual in Mossyrock who claimed there were several people on the roof of a nearby tavern shooting at his residence, contacted the caller and concluded he seemed to be hallucinating due to a possible medical condition combined with alcohol use, according to the Morton Police Department.

STRUCTURE FIRE

• Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that heavily damaged an outbuilding on Monday at the 200 block of Blanchard Road in Centralia. A crew was called at 11:15 a.m. to a fully involved fire and kept it contained to the building of origin, according to Riverside Fire Authority. No injuries were reported, according to the fire department.

• Chehalis police were called about 4 p.m. yesterday by a resident who discovered a fraudulent charge on her credit card account occurring at a business on the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

• Police were called about 5 p.m. yesterday after an individual learned a check they had received was fraudulent in a case associated with the 2000 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue.

STOLEN HOME RECOVERED

• The Chehalis Police Department said yesterday an investigation into the 26-foot travel trailer that was reported stolen from Wal-Mart’s parking lot on Tuesday night – with everything the victim owned inside of it – revealed a tow company had impounded the wrong trailer. It was to be returned to the 60-year-old owner who had left it parked there for less than an hour, according to police.

RYDERWOOD GARAGE FIRE SPREADS TO HOME

• A fire that caused extensive damage to a house and destroyed a garage in Ryderwood is under investigation, according to Cowlitz-Lewis Fire District 20. Chief Richard Underdahl said crews called to the 100 block of Monroe Street about 3:35 a.m. on Wednesday found the detached garage fully involved in flames and extending to the residence through a breezeway. The fire also threatened neighboring properties on both sides, according to Underdahl. The occupants got out unhurt but one individual running to the scene fell and suffered a minor injury to her face, according to the chief. Firefighters entered the residence and retrieved personal property for the home’s owners, saving as much as they could. Five neighboring departments joined in battling the blaze in work that that continued for almost 10 hours, according to Underdahl. Fire investigators from Cowlitz County Fire District 2 were contacted and responded to the scene.

• Chehalis police were called about 1:25 p.m. yesterday regarding a forged check discovered by a bank in a case associated with the 1300 block of Northwest State Avenue.

DISTURBANCE

• Officers called for a disturbance at the 900 block of South Scheuber Road in Centralia about 7:35 p.m. yesterday arrested a 25-year-old man for interfering with a health care facility. Anthony J. Bordelon, of Brush Prairie, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called about 5:10 a.m. today to the 200 block of Southwest Alfred Street for malicious mischief.

HOME STOLEN

• A 60-year-old man called Chehalis police about 10 p.m. yesterday when he returned to a parking lot on the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue where he had left his 26-foot travel trailer for less than an hour and discovered it was gone. Missing is a white 1998 Sunbeam King trailer, with everything the victim owned inside of it, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Surveillance images from Wal-Mart show a suspect vehicle that pulled the trailer away was a white quad-cab Ford pickup truck, that possibly had a brown stripe on it, according to police.

• Centralia police were called to the 100 block of Duffy Street regarding a burglary to a residence and garage about 3:35 p.m. yesterday.

THEFT

• An individual reported the theft of five PlayStation 4 video games from the 700 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia at about 7:20 p.m. yesterday.

FRAUD

• Chehalis police were contacted about 4:35 p.m. yesterday by an individual who found a fraudulent purchase was made in the Kennewick area using their EBT card.

• Centralia police were contacted about 4:40 p.m. yesterday to take a report that multiple fraudulent checks were made and drawn from a customer’s account in a case associated with the 100 block of South Pearl Street.

• Police were contacted by a Chehalis resident about 10 a.m. yesterday after she discovered someone had opened an account using her information and charged $240 to have something delivered to a New Jersey address.

CAR PROWL

• Centralia police were called to the 100 block of North Tower Avenue about 7:25 p.m. yesterday where an individual reported that someone had entered her vehicle and left a cell phone. It appeared that nothing was taken and the suspect was scared off, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Someone ran over a fire hydrant at the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard in Chehalis and knocked it off its base, according to a report made to police about 3:40 p.m. yesterday. No water was spraying out, according to police.

• Chehalis police were called about 6:10 p.m. on Saturday by a couple who had just discovered several hundred dollars had been removed from their credit union union account after shopping at various places including on the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

• Chehalis police are investigating a suspected identity theft after being called about 3 p.m. on Monday in a case associated with the 2500 block of North National Avenue.

PORCH PILFERING

• A package was stolen from the front porch of a residence on the 800 block of South Gold Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

• Chehalis police were called to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue about 6:50 p.m. on Sunday by an individual who said they returned to their car and discovered a stranger sitting inside, but he ran off when she banged on the window.

• Officers called at 3:06 a.m. today about a robbery associated with the 1200 block of Alder Street in Centralia have two suspects, according to the Centralia Police Department. Police are investigating.

MISSING GUNS

• A Chehalis resident reported to police just before 4 p.m. yesterday that he suspected his Taurus 38 special had been stolen. He didn’t know when, where or how his firearm went missing, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Chehalis police were contacted just before 2 p.m. yesterday and told a firearm was discovered missing last week in a case associated with the 100 block of Southwest Lewis Street.

INTERRUPTED BURGLARY

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reports they responded to two interrupted burglaries in two days and arrested several people. On Tuesday, deputies were called at about 11:10 a.m. to the 600 block of State Route 506 in Toledo and subsequently located two suspects in the area, according to the sheriff’s office. Jason C. Patterson, 44, of Onalaska, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree burglary and second-degree theft, according to Chief Deputy Dusty Breen. The same charges are being referred to prosecutors for a 32-year-old Vader woman, Breen said. At about 7:20 a.m. yesterday, deputies were dispatched to a home on the 2400 block of Seminary Hill Road in Centralia and law enforcement followed vehicles they’d been given descriptions of and detained one driver in the Logan District in Centralia, found the second vehicle unoccupied, and deployed a police dog, according to Breen. Arrested and booked for residential burglary were Eric M. McCarthy, 48, Seattle; Terry L. Hadley, 53, Chehalis; and Austin N. Humphrey, 23, of Napavine, Breen said. Later, just after 7 p.m., Erik G. Spicer, 32 of Napavine turned himself into law enforcement, and was booked for residential burglary, according to Breen.

• A 30-year-old woman was arrested for criminal impersonation when she allegedly provided a false name to officers about 4:25 a.m. today at Plum and King streets in Centralia. Ashley Howland was booked into the Lewis County Jail also for an outstanding warrant, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A 39-year-old Chehalis resident was arrested for an outstanding warrant and possession of a controlled substance after contact with police at the 1200 block of Mellen Street in Centralia about 6:15 p.m. yesterday. Stacy L. Cook was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Officers called to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road about 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail 47-year-old Douglas L. Sevier of Centralia for interfering with a health care facility, according to the Centralia Police Department.

ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• Officers called to the 100 block of West Alaska Way about 4:55 p.m. yesterday when a vehicle struck a residence causing minor damage arrested a 33-year-old Chehalis man for driving under the influence. Joseph W. Anderson’s vehicle had failed to negotiate a left hand turn, according to the Centralia Police Department. Anderson was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

• A school bus ran into a parked vehicle at the 100 block of North Oak Street in Centralia shortly before 2:50 p.m. yesterday, according to the Centralia Police Department. The damage was minor and no injuries were reported, according to police.
